I know what you’re asking: “Why would you want both?”

Well I’m taking a college class in video production and they are using Premiere CS4 as the NLE for the class. In fact, we’re using the instructor’s own book on the subject. I already have FCP 7 on my Mac Book Pro and am wondering if I can install the Mac version of PPCS4. I can pick one up on eBay.

A similar question: On this same Mac Book Pro (w/ FCP) I also have Parallels installed. Can I install the PC version of Premiere to there?

    Short Answer: Yes.

    Long Answer: Yes you can.

Most Professional Freelance Editors will have FCP and PPro on the same Mac Based machine so there is nothing wrong with wanting both.

Works absolutely fine – but I’d avoid using Parallels for any Video software, performance will be a dog.

I used to have both for my computer but then took off FCP – it just slowed down my computer and I didn’t use it as much as Adobe Premiere Pro.
