I live in Wisconsin. Do you know of any place close to me that will repair this machine?

January 2, 2013 at 7:22 pm in reply to: Resolve Lite 9 – getting started with some basic configuration and operationMany thanks for the response. Yes, you are right. I’m doing some key frame slow motion in Avid MC6. Okay, so the best way to prevent problems/errors when exporting AAF to Resolve is to transcode or mixdown all my clips and then do the export, correct?
So, where do Resolve Lite safe all my projects at? Is there a way I can set a default location for Lite to save this projects? I like to know this so I can back them up.
Okay, so is there a way to resize the window of Resolve Lite 9? It seemed like once I launch Lite, it automatically fills my left monitor (it even go beyond my monitor screen) that I can resize or minimize it.

[Timo Teravainen] “As far as I know you have to change it from OSX prefs. Or just physically swap the displays:)”
Is this the same for Windows too? That would be a great inconvenience. I have tried to customize the interface to go across two monitors and I couldn’t even do it.

I have the exact problem. My footage showed the exact darkening of the footage as showing in Lary Sang’s link. I’m using Avid but when I export, I export as Quicktime Reference and that’s where my problem is, Quicktime. Quicktime seems to be the source of the problem but so far I have no found a solution to this problem. I have posted in Quicktime Discussion page and no one seems to have an answer to this problem. This is frustrating that this is a huge problem and no one seems to know what the answer is. Perhaps it’s not widely spread. I would appreciate any help in solving this gamma shift problem with Quicktime.

It doesn’t appear that anyone knows or even Avid knows at this point how to import an .MP4 file into Avid. The best options are FCP or Sony Vega.

Why is FCP seems more and more attractive every time I encounter a problem/limitation with Avid? I’m looking into upgrading to Avid Media Composer which cost $4,500 compare to about $1,700 with FCP Studio. I now owned the Sony EX1 and if Avid can’t handle the file format, I’ll be hard for me to justify buying the Media Composer version.

Thanks! I got the 25Mbit/s files to work but you’re right, the 35Mbit/s files kept causing exception error in Avid. Besides Sony Vegas 8 Pro, are there any other work-around or utility that will get me to use Avid to edit my 35Mbit/s files? I’ve tried Brad’s utility and it’s not working right for me plus it’s so darn slow and the file size goes from 225MB to 1GB.

March 9, 2007 at 4:04 am in reply to: What software and/or hardware is best for suround editing? As always, thank you so much for your experienced explanation. I’d appreciated it a lot. I’ll take your suggestion into consideration when I actually putting things together. I’m NOT very experience in Pro Tools let alone PT HD.

March 5, 2007 at 6:13 pm in reply to: What software and/or hardware is best for suround editing? Many thanks for your response. I’m greatly appreciated. I’ve contacted DigiDesign on the difference between the LE and HD and what hardware is needed to run the software and so far I have not heard from them so your response is very helpful to me. Can you give me a price range of the LE and the basic HD version?

Thanks for the response. I’ll keep that in mind. I’m considering MC but I like to know the difference between jumping into it since it cost a lot more than xpress pro.
