Funny thing my Panasonic tapes come in boxes of ten, never had an order turned down because I ordered too many.
I use California Tape Products owned by a very nice lady and have had very good delivery and service from them.

I guess we all have our views of things. I would never tell a client he couldn’t eat or drink in the edit bay, where we might be for the next 8-15 hours. My clients might decide to go elsewhere. We did institute a no smoking in the building, which didn’t affect my clientelle too adversly.
When I am on a roll the last thing I want to do is break away for an hour to eat. I break concentration. Lose my place to what I had been thinking. In the days of linear editing that could be devastating. I set in my mind the entire project start to finish, I couldn’t leave in the middle of a scene for a lunch break. I ate on the fly between edits. I would take a short walk when my head got bogged down, but those were never over 5 minutes. We all have our own way of working, doesn’t always work for everybody.

I have one, but I would neeed an FTP Site to send it to, 47.5 megs, too big for e-mail. You really need the graphic elements of this file to see waht it is doing.

I should add, I had the pleasure of receiving a project that needed a minor change from the man that originally did the project. He gave me all his files because he had a new job and didn’t want to do this one anymore. That has been a great help in understanding the program, disecting someones timeline and seeing exactly how everything was constructed. Maybe you can get someone close to you to give you an old project you can take a look at.Charlie

Do any of us really know what to do with it? Right now, I’m just doing all the things I use to talk my clients out of doing. They were cheesey then, seem to be the norm now,. (Or are they still cheesy, just more clients want cheesey?)
I have found some really nice effects that I have used that I like. I still believe the greatest effects are the ones you don’t see.

Jeff has some great suggestions, heed them. I have found, interestingly, working in broadcast, the actual luminance level of most black skins on a scope are still in the 75-80% renge. They just have more chroma. Surprised me a tremendously when I discovered that. So keep that in mind, make pretty pictures of their faces and the rest of the picture should also be pretty.

My love is still in GVG toyland of linear editing. Lately I have been using Avid Express (not the newer DV or Express Pro, the Older MAC Express. Hmmmm MAC Express sounds like some deisel engine train.) I also have Vegas 5.0 + DVD. I use what tool fits the project I am working with at the moment.
Just a few weeks ago we got the Adobe Video Collection Pro. So now I am learning Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Encore, Photoshop CS2, and a partridge in a pear tree.
By the way, I’m loving every minute of it, learning new toys to play with. But I could sure use my GVG Superedit with my GVG Switcher, ADO, and Digibeta tape machines to add to the toys.
Premiere Pro doesn’t seem to act like anything I have worked with before, so it is going to be quite a learning curve. OOOOOOOOO After Effects is coming to me pretty quickly.Charlie

I’m not sure if what you are seeing is jaggies. or NTSC Chroma crawl. Red even at broadcast safe color is a high chroma item, you will get chroma crawl against many other color combinations. Anti-aliasing helps a lot, but usually will still have some crawl, if next to certain backgrounds. Trial and error with borders is the best solution I can think of. Try a tiny border of lesser chroma value it might help the aliasing problem if it is aliasing instead of jaggies.
