Is there anyone that uses this feature?

Or, is it possible that I’m looking for something that doesn’t exist?

  • When I first started making corporate videos for “investors” in the engineering company I worked for, I branched out and took in work such as “event videos”.

I was amazed to learn that most of the “clients” thought a 60 minute production shouldn’t take more than, maybe, 2-hours to make – tops! After that I decided to only make productions that I own completely.

  • I noticed in the right-side playback screen ( the 4 little horizontal bar-ticks) that the setting “Black Magic Playback – Turn off dropped frame warning” box was unchecked. So I checked it and the problem goes away.

All the clips were made 1920×1080 – frame rate 29.97 . So it was detecting a regular drop frame. But it did not show that anyplace on the screen. It just stops with no warning or proclaimed reason.

BTW this project was copied over from previous successful projects using the same type of material with no problem. So something mysteriously changed.

  • Under “Sequence Settings” t said…

    Uncompressed 8-bit SD YUV

and below that it says 1920 x 1080

The rendered files work just fine when played in Vegas Pro 13 and I can make a BlueRay or DVD viewing copy that plays just fine.

    I just noticed however….
When I viewed a rendered file in the BlackMagic Media Express playback it stalls on a “dropped frame” message.

  • I forgot to mention that is “scrubs” on the timeline just fine with no stalling or hitches…

    Thanks George.

    Works fine again….

I figured it was a setting in one of the other exhaustive choices under “preferences” or “view”.

    Thanks for all the replies.

I have a second system used almost exclusively with Premiere. It has used a “Decklink Studio-2” board for a long time. Imoved Vegas Pro 13 to that computer and the old Decklink card works fine with Vegas Pro 13.

All I expected from this new BMD card was to just output HDMI to a remote flatscreen “TV”. Failing that rudimentary task, I sent the new card back. I’m done with them!

I also have a BMD “Intensity Shuttle” that is useless. It never has worked on any of my 4 total computers. What I don’t understand is how a 50-Dollar Blueray player, with a tiny CPU – and almost no resources – can output video to an HDMI port, but somehow, BMD can’t get their act together with all the resources in a high-end Windows computer. It’s all so hit-or-miss.

OK Thanks. Just so I don’t keep looking for something that’s unlikely to exist. 🙂

    Thanks for the replies…

I guess I didn’t explain what I was looking for well enough. In PPro, I can place volume up and down adjustment points completely independent of disturbing any other clips on the same track’s timeline — and without any special forethought or effort. That seems impossible in Vegas.
