Thanks so much Glenn for stating what I was getting ready to say again..
We do have some ‘larger than the free version can handle’ footage in that particular timeline.. I will try that sir thank you!

Would you say that the best quick solution for opening one of my Studio projects would be the XML file? (for something he needs to turn around quickly, I’m worried about management getting upset with the amount of time spent transferring projects between machines)

Yes I’ve seen many complaints about it but surprisingly no answers as clear cut and dry as this. Thanks for that. Adobe, go home, you’re drunk.

July 2, 2019 at 2:59 pm in reply to: How is metadata burned into clip and which programs can search it?Surprised no one has replied, found this looking for another answer to metadata on clips. It’s been my experience that markers are written to the clips themselves because when we trade project files around the office and are working off of master copies of clips they don’t retain that metadata.
You can export your markers by going to File > Export > Markers
you can export a .csv .txt or a .html of all of them and they’ll come out as a list. Should get you closer to where you’re looking to be. Sorry this is four weeks late!

May 2, 2019 at 2:45 pm in reply to: How does Premiere treat clips ‘below’ others on the timeline during export?I had to cut up a few shorter timelines yesterday and decided to do half with hidden clips enabled and half with them disabled and Export was indeed faster. On average I went from about 3:30 render times down to about a minute. So in my experience, yes, it makes a difference to disable unused clips on the timeline.
It’s an option if you’re stuck working on a very long timeline and having trouble rendering, can’t hurt to try it.

May 1, 2019 at 2:20 pm in reply to: How does Premiere treat clips ‘below’ others on the timeline during export?I figured the same thing and remember way back in my FCP7 days this was common practice. I have ‘another’ large 4k project that will be about the same length with the same codec I’m starting today, when I render it out I’ll test this theory and we shall see! Thanks for the insight sir!

Hey Bouke when I mention ‘shady’ I was referring to the Scratch Play Pro program I found for conversion. It takes over the whole screen, changes the mouse icon and just generally looks unpleasant. I’m also sure it will raise eyebrows in the office to see it running.
I’ve heard of and attempted working with FFMPEG years ago. Thanks for the suggestion I’m researching it now, would you possibly have a link to a good starters guide? I really would love to understand and be able to utilize it in our workflows. What goes in to building a front end? Is it time consuming? Thanks so much for the response sir!

Thanks for the reply, I did a full system restart this morning and it’s working now. Must have been a bug.
