I have that box unchecked yet PPro 6 “Generating Peak Fil” and then “Conforming” begins at every startup of the same project.

Is there further help on this please?

Also confirmed by Colin on the Adobe forum, This feature currently is not possible.
He also directed me to where I may place a feature request with Adobe:

Sorry John for the delayed reply. I’ve been at sea for the past couple of days.

Here is the link to the other post:

I didn’t post it earlier because it was such an elementary subject with no conflicting debates. It literally was just a yes or no answer.

    Thanks again.

Excellent Todd. I’m sure to heed your response due to the professionalism and class you exhibited. Allow me to explain that I have for many years been sure to post the responses received from the various forums. As a scientist, I am well versed in ensuring that information from one forum, if it wasn’t mentioned in the other, is shared. You can see these posts in Creative Cow’s many different forums for Final Cut Suite and on Apple’s Final Cut forums. You might not see it here in PPro’s forum yet because I am a new to PPro, having just switched from FCP. Thank you again Todd for the advise and I will be sure to follow your instructions.

For Ann…your indignant behavior on this thread warrants me to notify you to NEVER post to my threads again. You have shown a disgusting lack of professionalism and character, and I want nothing of my being, professionally and personally, to ever associate with your deplorable mannerism. I have saved this thread and will not hesitate to notify a moderator of your undeserved actions towards me and request your expulsion.

When I post a topic, I post it on both forums at the same time to reach as many people as possible and to educate as many people as possible. That’s what forums are for. If you don’t like it, that’s your problem. Don’t post anything again on my posts if you have nothing to contribute.

July 15, 2011 at 5:58 am in reply to: Multiple projects open at the same time

I also require to have multiple projects open simultaneously. It’s because I have a project just for business files, a seperate project that houses music to be used in multiple files, etc… I set it this way when I was a FCP user which allowed multiple projects.
    Is there a workaround?

July 13, 2011 at 2:14 am in reply to: FCP to Premiere Pro FULL CONVERT

Thank you to all who have added much useful information to this post. I apologize for not replying as I’ve been in the field.

I’m a formally educated marine biologist first and a self taught video man second. I remember researching video formats 10 years ago when I started filming for research and can’t believe I have to go through this again.

I’m hoping to find the happiest medium for marrying my old footage with my new footage and be able to keep my personal filing system in tact.
My current FCP organization is arranged in this manner:
-ALL project files are on my system’s drive
-all capture and render files are on an external 6TG Raid (eSata)
-I use 1 main project file (“MASTER_CLIPS”) to capture all my clips and I organize them in bins by “#date(project name or site)”
-the working projects (more of a category) is categorized by animal (ex: “octopus.fcp” or “mantas.fcp”) with clips that were copied from the “MASTER_CLIPS” project
-all sequences for that animal are in the project itself.

Can I keep this arrangement in PPro?
I saw a tutorial that states that when PPro creates a project, it also creates a folder, to hold capture/renderfiles, in the same folder as the file is placed, and names the new folder the same name as the file. This doesn’t fit my current arrangement and am wondering if there was a way to work around this? I’d like to have PPro identical to FCP.

Lastly, back to the format question, what is the best format for me to ingest my AVCHD footage into PPro and have it work seamlessly with my old footage which was captured using Apple Intermediate 1080i60? The old footage hopefully transfers flawlessly over using XML.

Again, thank you to everyone for all your help and I apologize for not have any input earlier.

    Aloha:
    -Charlie-

June 29, 2011 at 9:38 pm in reply to: FCP Chapter Markers in Encore?

My workflow was to create a regular H.264 1920×1080 quicktime movie in FCP7. Then I encoded the movie to mpeg4 Blu-ray USING Adobe Media Encoder. This new mpeg4 movie was then imported into Encore CS5 and placed in its own timeline. I then manually added the chapter markers myself.
I figured in using Adobe Products for encoding, authoring, and burning created a more seemless workflow. It took time to manually enter 23 chapters in Encore but that’s ok, it was just positioning the playhead and pressing the “*” key and naming it.
The final blu-ray product worked perfectly.
    Hope this helps.

June 14, 2011 at 6:24 am in reply to: 18 Buttons Limitation?

My apologies for the delayed reply. I’ve been busy with my movie premiere this week. 18 buttons per page is the limit for 16:9. I’m not sure how many pages you’re allowed. I solved my problem by grouping 2 separate chapters together into a single button. So instead of “Eagle Rays” and “Manta Rays” as separate buttons, it is now a single button for “Eagle and Manta Rays”. It starts with the Eagle and if the viewer wants mantas right away, they can press the next chapter button.

  • It did seem weird to me Danny but it did work.

I noticed the ONLY difference between the 2 menus (1 working fine and the other not) was in the background layer’s “eye” being on in the menu that was working and the “eye” being off in the menu that wasn’t.
There was a lock on the layer in both menus so I wasn’t able to just turn them on or off.

So I opened the non-working menu in ps, clicked the background layer on and saved. Back in Encore, I opened in preview, rendered it, and voila! There was the video playing perfectly. Weird huh?
Now my entire disc works perfectly!
