I have tried following directions from an Apple post on how to re install the os. At the grey boot up screen hit command – R and select re install. However on my machine I do not get this option. Is there another way to re install Mavs with out building up a new drive? Thank you all for you help!

OK found all the files and trashed them again. Downloaded the web driver from nVidia and installed that. rebooted and only one monitor. Went into pref pane and selected use OS default drive and restarted, no change. Then downloaded the native driver and updated that. rebooted = no change

Searched for how to uninstall the driver. Can’t seem to find the
    /System/Library/Extensions/CUDA
    /System/Library/StartupItems/CUDA
    /usr/local/cuda/lib/libcuda.dylib

    files. Deleted the

    /Library/Frameworks/CUDA.framework
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.nvidia.CUDASoftwareUpdate.plist
    /Library/PreferencePanes/CUDA Preferences.prefPane

files and restarted. No Cuda driver in the prefs pane, downloaded the driver from nVidia site and rebooted to same issue. So I assume I need to find these files and delete them as well

The gather windows button does not show up at all when booted with the 680. The old Cinema displays are directly connected. No adaptors or extension cables. Thx

With the GT120 the “gather windows” is a selection. With the GTX680 it is not.

Both monitors are working when driving them with the GT120 that came with the machine. Not sure what next steps are to get the 680 back to showing both monitors.

Hey Jeremy – Yes it does follow the port. i.e. only one port working. Tried zapping the PRAM as well with no luck. I will try the old GT120 later today and see if that works. Glad I don’t have any real work in the shop this week. !!
