Thank you very much.

May 25, 2011 at 12:59 am in reply to: Problems XDCAM Transfer, can’t save clip title or comments of .mxf/ .xml to import/ use in AvidGuys I’m responding to an old thread so please think back to see if you have an answer. I too just got Snow Leopard, and I realized now, the first time I’ve captured video since the install, that I can’t get XDCAM Transfer to work! I get this message:”The clip could not be saved to the cashe as it was an unrecognized format”
Is there some fix for this. I have the footage on my EX1, and the only way I know to transcode it to .Mov to edit in FCP.I’m running OS 10.6.7 on a Mac Pro with 2x 3Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon processors.
I got a client waiting for me to FTP her the footage, so I’m having a bit of a heart attack. Any help would be nice.
Thanks
Chad

Depending on which camera you have or if you have magic lantern, you can get decent audio in the DSLR. 2nd system audio is better, but for simple stuff a preamp will greatly help you. The new MixPre-D will have mic level outputs specifically added for DSLR use, but there is also the JuicedLink stuff, and I have made a video about them – going into a Canon T2i with AGC defeated by magic lantern.

Also there are the slew of Mini Shotguns that plug straight in. The Rode VideoMic Pro being the best due to it’s 20db boost, that allows you to turn down your recording level and the hiss along with it.

Guys I’m glad we revisited this, as I have a project that could use a little motion blur.
In Motion, I have never seen a setting (OUTSIDE OF THE EXPORT DIALOGUE BOX) for Motion Blur. Under “Export / Options Button / Output Tab” there is a check box for Motion Blur. But I don’t export files any more from motion, as they are large, so I bring the project into FCP. If I drag the Motion project file onto the FCP timeline, I am not “Exporting” out of Motion, just using it as a clip in the FCP timeline.
Questions: Is there a setting within a Motion project to add motion blur? Or will using “Best” render option in FCP somehow turn on motion blur in my embedded Motion project?
Please advise.

I just tried it (After forgetting about this bug) and I found 23 gigs of old render files…
Can we somehow set the renders to happen in only one place, even when starting new projects?

If you trash your prefs the problem goes away too.

Thank you! I am aware that it effects render times. I just didn’t know how to turn it on anywhere other than under the export dialog.
Take care man!

Hi
Where exactly does one activate motion blur in Motion? I have looked, but not found it.
Thanks.
