I agree with you on that point but I hope you agree that not everyone remembers every little thing in after effects that they saw in a tutorial. the page he linked me to wasn’t a tutorial on my specific question it was just a bunch of general tutorials. if I know 80% of what is in those tutorials should I watch all of them just to find the one small question I had?

Isn’t this forum for answering questions and saving time? If i had a question about expressions or motion tracking would you send me to a bunch of tutorials that might have the answer at the end of one? I wouldn’t, I would answer your question as best as I know how or send you to a specific tutorial.

I could understand if I posted here everyday asking a bunch of basic questions but I don’t. I actually googled the question and looked around before I even came here.

Ok I now see there’s a “Bezier” checkbox.

I’m sure you knew that dave. I guess when people ask questions you just condescendingly send random tutorials.

Well maybe someone can answer the question “can you turn a rectangle/circle into an editable shape”

thanks.. I think i see what the issue is im trying to copy the path from something that already has a trim path animation on the path. when i make a new path it works fine. when I try to copy from a path that I have animated trim path on it doesn’t paste in the right spot.

  • Oh I didn’t even notice that drop down arrow there.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks Brian

I’m not sure what media core is, do i need to purchase it? and where do I change the ProRes422 to ProRes444. I only see these options in the picture viewer “save as” MOV options. which seems to only save the current movie.

I want the object going through the window to be constrained within the frame of the window so that it doesn’t intersect into the geometry of the window frame like a “soft body” I just cant figure out how to get the soft body to work in any direction but on the Y axis.

  • never mind I needed to switch the shading mode to gradient.

Well i guess I wasn’t done. I added a xpFollowPath which worked great. but I wanted a second set of x-particles to follow a different path in the same scene. when I add the second xpFollowPath to a different group that group doesn’t do anything. If I turn the xpFollowPath off the x-particles work although they aren’t following the path I want.

not only does the new particle group not work it seems to be effecting the first particle groups path.

can there be only one xpFollowPath per scene?
