I have two tests in now–I’ll let you know how it works. We do have a vendor that currently does this for us–it’s very expensive, so we are trying to eliminate that cost.

Yeah-this product is great. But it does not work on a Mac-I need a Mac based solution

True Craig, they are working on it but have not confirmed success. I am looking at Pixel Tools but am still shooting in the dark. I am sure there are pro’s out there who have conquered this task…anyone out there know the answer to this? Something that works on a mac now? Thanks!

Thanks Craig.

The operative word in this is “TVN”. I called Telestream and even they told me their MP2 telestream
movies are getting rejected from TVN. Is anyone out there doing MP2 deliveries to TVN from Final Cut? I’m looking for advice on that workflow. Thanks!

I ended up calling AJA to get the low down on down converting through Kona Card.
They were a huge help-props to the AJA peeps.

You are right, AJA was faster and absolutely better than FCP conversion. Thanks for your help, Cat

Does anyone know how to use KonaLHE to down convert from FCP HDV sequence to digi beta (SD)
deck? If not, anyone know where I can get a KonaLHE manual or tutorial?

I was trying to down convert in FCP by changing sequence settings from HDV to 10 Bitt 422.

But, I recently read that I should not convert in FCP. I should do it through my Kona LHE card.

So now I am trying to figure how to do that…any thoughts?

I’m using an AJA Kona card…is that what you mean?

What I ended up doing was taking the bug into AE and exporting a Tff with Alpha. Then I put on
FCP seq and did not have to render…phew.

But, you were right…we had to configure with a still image…
