Thank you, what drives do you recommend for editing onto?

    Thanks,

I am more of a producer/DP who edits a bit, so working with proxy files is not something I have experience with. What drives do you recommend for fast drives to edit to?

Thanks Shane, as always you’re the best. What is the best performance for external drives given what I have?

    Thanks again!

Thank you. I am the producer and the photographer is not here. Is re-setting the camera easy? Sorry for the ignorance, but I’m not sure of how to do that, I will look at manual too.

    Thanks again.

Thanks for all the information. I am not the editor but the producer that would hire for this project. Since I am not real adroit at either Photoshop or Motion (I dabble and can do basic things in both), I need to hire an editor to do this for me. I am trying to put a budget together for this, could you estimate what this would cost to create?

    Thanks again.

Well, that certainly explains it. Thanks Shane. I was confused because our show time line is DVCPRO HD 1080i60 and the editing time base is 59.94 and what I thought was 60 frames per second, but I guess now I understand it is 60 fields per second? Does your DVD on work flow go over this stuff too? I will definitely be getting that

    Thank you again.

  • thanks!

  • your the best! As always thanks. On another note, I have a 45gb file that needs to be put on an external drive for PC. Is there a recommendation on this? I know FAT32 isn’t the answer.

Thanks again Shane. I still feel like there’s something wrong with the new computer. I just had to edit a video I shot on the iPhone. I used only 3 way color corrector, tried to put FCP text and I get the same dropped frames warning. The media was stored on the internal hard drive because it was a family video and I didn’t have any plans to edit, but thought I would test it. Is it really possible that a new mac pro can’t be fast enough not get dropped frames from an I phone video?
