    Hi Oliver,
It’s taken me awhile to get around to finding this threat but I also must report struggling with this same issue since about the time you reported it last December (or whenever the 2018 update hit). The issue for me is exactly as you describe. I work with several shooters who use Arri Amira and the master clip LUT that is supposed to come in from the camera and get mapped to Lumetri is there if you look for it–but it does not display. When the problem first started it was intermittent in the timeline, and now, perhaps after some CC updates, it seems persistent–in that the Master Clip LUTs do not display at all. Very frustrating. Been using a lot of workarounds but they are cumbersome and productivity-killing to what should be a slick workflow.

As an aside I’ll mention that these LUTs end up not getting used in the final grades, but they are a great benefit to the editorial process.

Just to confirm, working with Dmitry in tech support on the phone today, he was able to recreate the same issue and confirm it was a bug. It will be forwarded to development for a fix, but that fix is not likely to come until after NAB.

UPDATE: Drifting further and further off now up to 12 frames by 6:30 in… always in a 2 frame at a time jump when it changes. BTW by the end it was up to 14 frames. I’ll investigate the drop frame issue after I just get this thing rendered and delivered to client.

Another inconsistency: Roll tool works fine on cuts, but will not roll from the center point of a dissolve. I have to grab each end of the dissolve and move it separately. Annoying, but I’m getting stuff done. But this tool should be able to roll an edit with a transition like any other from the center point.

    Update:
It is early, but I discovered a new Decklink update (8.6.1) came out 4 days ago. Just uninstalled and reinstalled. This triggered a firmware update for my Decklink HD Extreme 3D card. After all that, I’m finding things working okay, even with the MOV files. (the MXF wrapper seems to be irrelevant at this point).

Anyway, I’ll report back if I have further issues, but I think I might be looking good here.

BTW Jim I think you are raising separate issues about the D7000, not connected with this.

    Update:
Converted 3 cards worth to MXF as a test. I’m still having the same performance issues and render hangs. So whatever Premiere Pro CS 5.5.1 doesn’t like about this Nanoflash media does not appear to be related to whether it is MXF or MOV.

Ugh, going to try a Prores transcode on a few clips next. Transcoding all of this stuff would be an enormous task.

    Hi Guys,

Using Premiere Pro 5.5.1 is this still the recommended practice?

Just got a job in with about 7 hours of Nanoflash recordings all in the .MOV wrapper.

They seem to play okay in the PPro timeline but as soon as I apply dissolves or other transitions they:
    a) can’t play back in real time (odd for my high-spec system)
    b) often hang PPro when rendering transitions, requiring a force-quit/re-launch. I say often because sometimes I get lucky and one render will work but subsequent ones will hang.

Transcoding or even re-wrapping (via MXF converter) the sheer volume of footage would be a real PITA for an edit that is supposed to start in the morning.

    Help?

  • Long time an FCP/Multibridge Pro user, I’ve just taken on a Premiere Pro project for ‘finishing’ and I’m shocked, I mean really shocked that I can’t get my Multibridge Pro to display this project on my grading monitors.

I guess I always just assumed the support was there. Above we see Joshua stating, on Nov 10, about a month to go. I just installed the latest Multibridge drivers (7.5.2) and I have no support. It’s been 3.5 months since he last said that.

What is the status? This is suddenly a critical need for me.

    All the best,
    Carey

I made a screencast illustrating the issue. The movie as well as project files and renders can be downloaded at this url:

Please pass the word and we’ll get this issue resolved.

Mine look bad right away. No improvement on the rendered files, regardless of which codec I render to.

I even went so far as to try to pre-convert the DV50 source material to another codec first, Prores 422, and saw no improvement. My theory is that the codec itself is not interpolating correctly…

I only have firewire support on my DVCPro50 deck or I would have tried capturing another way to see if I could get around the issue. Wish I had the SDI or component options at this point! (then again, that costs about 3k extra and I *shouldn’t* need it , if the software codec is indeed the culprit.
