I’ve never had the footage export correctly out of FCP if it is anamorphic. Nor should it, really.
Change the SIZE in the export options to reflect the 16×9 and you’ll be fine.
(Hx16)/9=W

I had to copy over my Swatches folder into the plugin folder.
That worked.

Also — My 4.0.1 folder is in my root Applications folder (mac)… should it be in the AE plugins folder?

Yes, I’ve got the folder… Light Lighting Material and Object Swatches… all have the .zxm’s in them.
I just couldn’t figure out how to load them BACK into the invigerator setup inside AE.
I thought too maybe because I was using THAT COOL NEW FEATURE of creating text that that’s why… but no.
So — How would I go about loading my swatches? I was also looking for a help PDF but didn’t find that either.

Is your camera in VTR mode? Are you sure you have the VCR set up right? Cables going from the out?
What type of DV camera are you using?

Try making sure your map is twice as wide as it is tall. 1000×500 etc.
Did you use Fractal Noise to get the water look? Which version of AE are you using?

I just did a couple of similar things with CC Light Rays — it’s in my Render folder in 6.5 Pro… but I also had ncie effects with LensFlare (god forbid!!!).

I did this:

with shine.
Shine is a great plug-in usefull for a BUNCH of stuff.
But what I did was duplicate the layer and have one with the shine effect and the top one without. You might be able to do that with some of the built in plug-ins too.
