Im trying to make a rotating globe with my logo inside of it. I have the globe done and rotating with the logo in the middle but the problem that I am having is I have a solid layer acting as the water. The problem is that my solid is not a smooth round clip. Instead it is broken up where the 2 edges meet.

    please look here: <https://img272.echo.cx/my.php?image=globeandlogo0jc.png>

The right picture is Comp 1 (World Atlas and Blue Water Solid) and the left picture is the Master Comp which contains Comp 1 and it has the CC_SPHERE effect applied!

Is there anyway to get the blue water break to become 1 smooth piece?

    Thanks for any tips!

Try making sure your map is twice as wide as it is tall. 1000×500 etc.

Did you use Fractal Noise to get the water look? Which version of AE are you using?

    Im using AE 6.5.

    “Did you use fractal…”
No I used just took a movie clip I had slowed it down, colored it, and dropped the opacity to 50%. It makes for a real nice transparent water look!

I tried your suggestion and had no luck!

    Thanks for the reply though!

    Still needing help!

The problem is that your water is not seamless across the right/left edges. I suggest that you use Fractal Noise to create the watery look.

Start by creating a Solid that is twice as wide as your final comp’s size.
Apply Fractal Noise to the Solid and set parameters to achieve the desired look. Now use the Quick Mask Rectangular Tool to slice up the layer right in the middle. Duplicate the same layer and set this layer’s mask mode to Subtract. Select both layers and precompose.

Apply CCSphere the the precomposed layer. Set parameters to taste.

you could also try playing with the effect called “CC repetile” which can tile or mirror footage. I *believe* there is an option to blend the edges as well, but it’s not perfect.

Generally your image needs to be 2x as wide as it is tall. If you make it a perfect square and the mirror it and expand it to double the size, that might do it.

CC repetile worked great. I just tried that because it got me curious and the expand control
    made the sphere seamless.

Thanks Aharon, I admire your work. Great lecturer as well.
