Just a quick one but have you tried a different RS cable or in fact i imagine you have several different ones for each deck?

    HI Riley

Thanks for the specs. At a quick glance that I have this morning it would seem your problem is from the footage not getting enough bandwidth through you’re system. I would have to check the bit rate of your footage and get back to you on that, but 100 mb/s seemss a bit slow for HD. What i would also suggest though is trying your Intensity in slot 4 (top) as that is the recommended slot to use. Can you playback SD footage with no frame loss?

However if you’re getting normal playback outside of Final Cut through your Intensity (have a try playing it out with deck control) then it could well be your sequence settings. I understand you’re not using easy setups, but it may be worth trying 1 just to see the results. Generally all you’re video settings should match the resolution of your footage.

    cheers

    Hi Aaron

Unfortunately i can only answer your questions to the best of my knowledge. im not 100% sure. Im sorry im not too familiar with Premiere but im sure somone else will be!

    1. I dont see any reason why it shouldn’t work with Premiere Pro 2, the best test i suppose would be to have a go! If the Blackmagic presets appear in project presets then you shouldn’t have a problem. (you can check your multibridge is working correctly using the deck control utility.)

    2. As for this one im afriad im not sure. Have a look at the input processing settings in Apple>>system preferences>>decklink.

Sorry i cant be more helpful but im just not familiar with Premiere!

    cheers

    Hi Riley,

First off if possible could you please post a more detailed spec of your machine (RAM, Os version, G5/mac pro, what slot your using etc) just to get a better picture at what could be the problem.

Secondly can i ask are you using a RAID to store your HD footage and again how is that set up? Also with final cut pro when you change your easy setup (and the Blackmagic setting should be fine ok) it does not apply retroactively to your sequence, so you either need to create a new one, OR go to final cut>>audio/video settings of the current sequence.

    Cheers

    Hey there,

Just to confim, you’re connecting via component Y,B-y,R-y (the red green and blue ones) to the break out cable of the intensity? If its a monitor make sure you’re connected to the “OUT” connectors rather than the “IN.”

Next, when your logged on if you got to Apple>>System Preferences, and at the bottom under “other” you should see the Intensity icon. Double click to open the properties and you should see two drop downs, one for input, one for output.

This is where you need to tell the Intensity what is connected to it, so under output make sure it is set to include the component out “Y,B-y,R-y” (i havent got a mac in front of me atm to check the exact wording). And if you select video desktop, it should let you see fairly quickly if your getting output to your monitor.

Then when you’re in Final Cut the output should switch to the video/sequence etc that you are working on. You will need to make sure your “easy setup” matches the resolution of the footge you are working with.

    Hope that helps.
