I use either compressor or adobe media encoder to encode assets before importing into Encore. I never feed Encore the HDV files. Probably because that’s the way I always worked with DVDSP.

I never was able to solve that issue. I created a new project and re-authored the entire project over again. That was the only thing that fixed the glitch. I hate encore – it’s such a glitchy program and I am at it’s mercy because Apple couldn’t get off their ass and make a Blu-Ray Studio Pro.

I don’t have a solution yet but I am having the same (or similar problem) – I have two assets – #1 is 9 gigs, and #2 is 13 gigs. The audio is 192kbps Ac3 so it’s not even a factor. Encore tells me that the encoded size will be 26 gigs? How the hell does that add up. Then…here’s the kicker…I make the disc image – it’s 34 gigs… One thing I noticed is that when I go to build the disc image, it instantly acts like it already has written the first 14 gigs and it’s continuing to write the rest.

DVD Studio pro has told me that there is a maximum of 18 buttons allowed on a page. I’m thinking that it’s part of the DVD specifications.

Ditto! I’m running CS5/snow leopard and this solved the problem for the most part as well. Only thing was that some navigation buttons I made were text only and they disappeared on me. So, I’m duplicating those layers so I can have a layer that’s visible always and then a highlight layer with the (=3) name. Otherwise, the only time somebody would see “next page” would be if they landed on that button’s position.

I’m surprised how well this solution worked for everyone and even more surprised that Adobe didn’t fix this yet. I’ve downloaded all their latest updates…
