agreed, carbon fiber can shatter, but how much force would it actually take to shatter one? have you ever heard of one breaking?
I mean amputees get carbon fiber legs to run marathons on. -

most video i do is out of a suitcase in other countries. but it only adds like .7 pounds, and costs only $120 more. would this be the better choice?

Restart computer, if you haven’t, and make sure the camera is on and plugged in BEFORE you start up FCP.

If you read carefully….“NOTE: SxS-1 media is currently only compatible with the new XDCAM EX camcorder models including the
PMW-EX1R, 350L and 350K models. A downloadable firmware upgrade, scheduled for release in spring 2010, is
required to enable SxS-1 media to be used in the PMW-EX1, EX3, and 10MD hardware models. The upgrade will be
available on the Sony Pro Media / Professional Hardware websites. Users that own a PMW-EX30 deck may need to
send their deck to a Sony Service Center for the upgrade.”So most will have to wait till spring to use them.
