I’m not installed Workgroup in a few years but I’ll shoot you a couple of thoughts.
Do you have your credentials in the Worker config? The Worker must be able to log into the server process in order to perform server queries and server based actions.

Note that CatDV is less integrated like Portfolio or FCSvr, for instance. It’s got a few apps that integrate together with other systems to make a custom workflow. This, while less easy to envision at first, makes for a far more flexible system.
For instance, on the transcoding side, NSA has integrated CatDV with ffmpeg, Compressor, Telestream Episode Pro, Engine, and Vantage. We’re currently looking at adding Digital Rapids and Rozhet as well based on some client requests. We have an integrated review and approval and web interface that we built to work with CatDV. As well as file transfer workflows using ftp, Aspera and http. There are 5 or 6 archiving systems that support CatDV integration which is staggering.
CatDV is a powerful framework or platform. You can extend it as you wish, which is nice when most companies have one or two options for transcoding and transfers. But like building an edit bay, you can’t expect Apple or Avid to advise you on what monitors to use, you have to make some informed decisions.

It’s directly from the CatDV db in SQL so it’s generally not user accessible.
It is normally the logged in user account of the machine that is accessing the CatDV Server so if their account name is incorrect it will show that here too. In some cases we see the CatDV username so I’m not sure how this is handled. (I’m betting it has to do with the fact that we’re always logged in as “Administrator” to CatDV.)
In the case of server actions it can be the system user that runs the action such as “root@console”.
I’m not sure how supported this is since it’s all below the surface so to speak.

Does this work correctly with one drive? One thing to note is that the Archive plugin only stores one set of archive data so you might need to clone the drives after they are done and just store one set of archive metadata.
Also note that you could consider just naming the drives the same thing at the OS level and labeling them differently on the outside, that way the system should restore no matter what. This might solve your problem with the current workflow. Paths need to be maintained or things get very wonky.
I think this could be accomplished far easier and more reliably with a set of Worker Node actions.
Each transfer to the volume could be logged in a separate field, for instance “archive transfer 1” and “archive transfer 2” could have separate metadata fields. A worker action for each archive could be set up, and they’d report back asset by asset. Restores would be far easier as well as you could record the path on each drive and then the system could pull as needed.
You could even add a checksum and verify to run afterhours if you were using the Worker.

Read the help section on the verbatim logger if you would, it’ll clear things up but here’s the basics.
Hover over the buttons at the bottom of the VL and the tool tips tell you what they do.
“Apply” makes Markers and or Subclips.
“Save Text” saves text to the notes.
There’s a section in the settings for the VL that allows you to make a copy of the log in the Notes when you subclip as well.

I’m curious to hear about this but I do have some ideas.
1) No other MAM really supports this type of printing since they work via a web browser primarily. It’d be great, but it’s unprecedented in the field. They do offer printable reports but you’re asking to print a screen in an app, not a report per se.
2) The disk space tool, while useful, can easily be replaced by any number of other shareware tools that offer printing and export, if this is something you need to track.

The workflow you are proposing has a lot of Avid steps in it, which can limit the ability to automate things.
The sequence (clip list) can be exported as an FCP XML which will get you the clips if you transform it.
I think this is something that you might want to go over from more of a “destination first” description. If you have to use Avid, that’s one thing but if this is just a process to automate the creation of clips, that’s a whole other things and you might be able to do this with other tools.
Also, remember that we are 2 weeks out from NAB. All of you out there proposing advanced workflows should remember that things often are announced at major trade shows.
