Some plugins aren’t available in Resolve that Premiere has and I use some plugins before the final output.

Also, is there a way to just export a LUT from Resolve into Premiere? I love Resolves color checker chart. If I could grab a LUT from the color checker chart from a clip of my video and export that into Premiere I could sometimes just use that as an adjustment layer in Premiere

    okay thanks,

What about say for instance I do lots of scaling. I often will be editing chroma key green screen and scaling different objects etc from video. Should I use filmscan then?

[Tero Ahlfors] “XDCAM is 8 bit and there is an 8-bit version of DNxHD. Look again.”

I see a DNXHD 8 bit version which is called DNXHD SQ with is 45MBs. Is that the one I should choose? The next one up from that is HQ with 100MBs. I’m guessing since my camera records in 28mbs I should select the SQ version with 45MBs?

[Dave LaRonde] “There’s no way to select just a portion of a clip. You simply import clips. Got a 10-second clip? You get 10 seconds of video. Likewise for 2 hours.”

Um, That’s not true. Prelude lets you selection portions and transcode only that portion .

[Tero Ahlfors] “H264 is lossy so you will lose information there. You could use DNxHD or maybe even XDCAMHD 422.”

How come I can’t find a DNXHD or XDCAM format that is under 10 bit file? Again I don’t want a 10 bit file as my camera doesn’t need that. Is there an 8 bit format that closely matches my avhd footage?

  • so you are saying I can’t export what I need and only ingest that into premier? My issue is all the .mts files are labeled weird like 0000.mts etc and I want to label my clips so that both the footage on my hard drive and premiere project are the same name like “Interview with John” but I also don’t want all the multiple takes of the interview just the take I want. Sometimes I go back and interview later until I get what i need and I only want to ingest the interview I need and not have 4 other interviews on my hard drive that I’m never going to use.

  • I know it’s not the footage because if I open it up in premiere it plays fine

  • [Tero Ahlfors] “What are your computer specs?”

Also, the video is in 59.94fps project and timeline are in the same frate rate. Drops frames like hell. the little red indicator at the top by the time code is red the whole time. Clip itself under clip attributes is 59,.94fps as well. If I create a project for 29.97fps plays fine
