Thanks for the tip, that was the plan anyway.
For the HD stuff we’ll probably up the max bit rate just a little.

A very good point, thank you.

We are likely going to burn everything to a DVD in SD quality but use a blu ray player (technically a playstaion 3, oddly enough) to upconvert on playback to match with the HD projector. We could do that or run the HD stuff off of the PS3’s hard drive.

I’ve run into this problem as well. Usually I just quit and reopen and it fixes itself.

Am I correct in assuming no one knows the cause of this?

I have both those items and smoothcam still does not show in Final cut.

(I assume you were referring to ‘proapps’ in the application support under macintosh hd and not under the user folder’s library>application support, because in the user folder’s application support there was no proapps folder)

    Any ideas?

So you’re saying that there is a way to shoot footage in which it would only store individual self contained movies for each clip when you ingested data? (as opposed to separate contents folders etc.)

Is this only with the fire-store or also with P2 cards?

What if you were using a backup utility like time machine and another external HDD?

Also, what approx.. are the chances of a failure with ingesting suing only the finder?

    So to clarify,

Is it a problem to simply connect an HVX w/ cards and open up ‘Log and Transfer’ and then import your desired clips?

Isn’t that the quickest, simplest method?

If you import into a timeline at say, 720p24p, then final cut should play it back at 24 fps and give you a sped up look. Make sure to check all your capture settings and sequence settings to ensure they’re set at
    DVCPROHD 720p24p

But is “formatting” the same as deleting?

If I do clear the card in camera do I then have to format them?

You need to be in 720p24pn under recording settings.

Under Scene File switch from “video cam” to “film cam” then by framerate you can change from default to any even number from 12 to 60 fps.
