currently strictly cinema lighting,, i am however unfamiliar with what differnce O GL will make, there are just so many settings. its hard to find out what they all do because it can prolonge the render times so much you can be testing the options out your whole life :). I understand 9.5 is quicker at Caustics and Radiosity
Im away Saturday but will be attempting the lighting again on Sun evening. with images to put u in the picture. Thanks for the interest folks

Will do. Ill finish some of the modelling and make sure all the exact materials are assigned as a few are currently causeing too much reflectance so say late Sunday GMT+0 mid Monday, i should have some images posted. They dont look too bad, i know i can take them one step further though

    watch this space 🙂

    Cheers

second to that, setting the object colour to the background creates an effect only lines are being rendered.

This setting is in the effects settings in the render settings. Set shading to Background

If only it was that simple

Because im using an archicad export plug in the objects dont behave in exactly the same way. You cannot edit them for a start. To make an object editable you need to import to maxon form, create, edit, import back into Archicad , then into Cinema for rendering :S

boolean does not work as i mentioned
knife only works with editable cinema shapes

My walls and windows for example have their own Archicad tag. Is there still a way of creating a section through the buildings??

    Thanks

thanks again, love the response times!!

    works a treat

just to clarrify what i meant by triangulating:

i think its just the way the wire mesh tries to formulate the solid terrain from the polylines. They look like they are made up of triangles where a poly line curves. not important but thought id just try and explain..

    cheers again Adam
