i looked up the about computer, says actually Pentium N3700 1.6ghz
it’s a dell inspiron 15-3552
4g ram

If it matters, the Pentium is a quadcore …cpubenchmark

and i think the “turbo speed” is 2.4ghz but i have no idea what would make that happen.

does it being a quadcore bring it up to over 50% chance?

have you ever heard of /seen anyone edit in the cloud? i think adobe had a thing like that.

to clarify, is there a fast way to make more dvds and skip the rendering step?

should I have rendered it and not used the make dvd function?
then it would make a file in a folder and I can go find it and right click burn dvd? or what would I do with the file once I found it?

would I open it in vegas? then go to the top menu and find “burn dvd?”

Another question: I used the computer rgb to studio rgb and got better results as I checked the dvd I burned on a laptop. haven’t tried on dvd players and tvs, just the tower and laptop.

I did save the pic you put up of the white, grays, black bars to see how my new monitor fared and it showed all the different hues of gray, white, black, etc.

Now, I’ve rendered and burned DVDs, is there a faster way, now that the rendering has been to done to short term satisfaction that I can burn more copies of the rendered file to dvd’s so I don’t have to keep rendering for each dvd?

will a consumer dvd copier be the way to go later for making exact copies? or will it get messed up in copying. the above question is the the main question I would appreciate getting answered asap.

what volume level is good for the computer itself, more likely to give somewhat predictable a results on the finished product?

because, when I listen on the senn headphones, it is super loud. and I can adjust the scene or the computer of course. what do you typically set your computer’s volume at? do you use headphones?

to me it makes sense to find out what the number is to set the computer volume on from 1-100, and then adjust each clip/cut/scene volume so everything is reasonably audible and not painfully loud later on output.

I guess this highlights the importance of getting middle of the road lighting on set and then f ing w it later. One scene was really low light such that it’s on the verge up and down as I make adjustments and renders.

let me correct a typo
after having a computer building/repair place install the LG bluray player, I burned one blu ray on a memorex bluray (not a dvd as said above). that one and only bluray I’ve burned looked too dark in that computer store on a new from the box bluray player hooked up to a tv.

and that one and only blu ray I burned at that store was taken to a bestbuy and tested on a bluray player hooked up to a tv that was playing iron man, which one, I don’t know. I know, I need to see more movies.

I only opened the box, hooked it up, never changed a thing.
I will look up how to calibrate a screen. I’m low budget, may have to wing it by trial and error. Just for now, want to not have darker scenes be unviewable. open to ideas or approximate fixes to just keep things moving.

I played a bluray I burned on a new blu ray player at a best buy that was demoing an ironman film on large tv.

It looked darker than what was seen on my screen.

Also, when I burned dvd’s I would have the same problem, yet it would vary.

On my pc laptop with the screen actually mid brightness or less, it looked fine.

On the pc computer tower on which it was burned it looked ok, but I believe I had to play with it as the first dvd’s had the same problem.

on someone’s mac, the dvd looked very dark, then he put it in a dvd player I didn’t see which type/brand and he said it was fine.
that was a dvd-r.

I had a bluray burner, LG, installed and burned one blu ray that was the one that played too dark on a tv hooked up to a new blu ray player at best buy. also, after I had the blu ray burner installed, I burned a dvd there, and put it in a just purchased bluray player and hooked it up to an in store tv. too dark.

and lastly, when I listen to the sound in the timeline, at what volume setting should the computer be at out of 100 in order to get predictable volume levels. the headphones are loud, sennheiser hd monitor headphones, cost about 110.

maybe I got a nicely dumb question, wanting to hear from the savior Rofrano: as I posted elsewhere. you are the man.

how can I get what I see in the editing/preview to be the output with respect to lightness of the scene? some come out super dark.

I saw something on youtube about clicking studio/rgb/computer, not sure what order.

Like to get a clear answer from an expert.

When I edit, I listen in on senn hd studio monitor headphones, and I set levels for them, granted they are probably overly loud, but to get predictable results:

– what should volume level on computer be set at out of 100 as I am editing and adjusting volume such that after I render it on a dvd or bluray, I get the level I heard, which would be nice, yes?

Thank you. Ok, I will do the QT sorenson.
Again, I did try QT once and it was mush. Maybe sorenson is a better qt codec for avchd or vegas.
my first q was, should I just do it again as QT? is that normal, that sometimes the computer just makes a mistake? or is my card too low end? or the ram is too low?
I have no preference on what codec whether QT or Sorenson 3, just want it to be basically viewable, audible and under 2G to get viewed for fest consideration. thanks for the tip on the calculators

ok, thank you so much John, I assume that will output into what the site says they accept? it’s one of the approved codecs? if you had to guess which bitrate would work, where’s a good place to start to keep the whole thing under 2G? there are no fancy fx/no cgi, just some basic titles for a few seconds. when I rendered it to qt it was tiny, as well as mushy.
