Yes I did install appropriate drivers, at least I think so. Thanks for pointing that out. You know I wonder if something was installed that is interfering with this? I don’t know why why this could be an issue though.

A good mix. 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 and it’s an issue on all machines.

I don’t use anything but FireWire for video. Thanks for asking. I’m stumped too.

Hey Caspian thanks for chiming in and nice to hear from you again. Matter of fact I’m copying my files to my Xtarget server. Anyway, This issue seems to be inconsistent. I don’t MOVE but COPY, update clips to refer to the new copy and replace. Now sometimes this works and the media path refers to the new location or it simply doesn’t copy or does copy but the media path refers to the previous location. Which is quite frustrating when you’re not sure if the files have copied or not. I’m realizing I should have just copied my entire hard drive to the server and just pointed the media path to it. I thought this would be the “right” way to do things. Thanks for your input.

The leader of my local FCPUG said it sounds like the MXF files are reading different from FCP 6 to 7? No duh! I’m not sure I’m satisfied with that answer but it’s all I’ve received. I even took this question to NAB with me this year thinking one of the FCP workshop experts would know. But I didn’t get an answer, just weird looks.

I have two systems at my place of work so if it’s necessary that I work on a project done in FCP 6 I’ll load it back to that machine.

Sorry this was no help to you. At the time this was a very frustrating problem for me. Please let me know if you get a different opinion.

I recently posted a similar question on this board and I solved my problem. I’m currently running FCP 7 and I tried to reconnect a show I edited almost a year ago. I continued to get the same File Attribute Mismatch, Start and End that you are getting. My clips were off by more than 20 seconds in some cases. I have another system in my department that is running FCP 6. I brought the project in to FCP 6 and reconnected with no problem. Could you have edited your program in an earlier version of FCP or QuickTime?
