You’re right Steve. Sorry if my post was misleading. I should read previous posts more carefully.

    Cheers,

    Hi Wayne,
I get notifications from the Vegas forum when someone answers my post. To turn it on, once you are logged on. Go to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Core’ and change the activity in “Notify me about posts in response to threads I’ve posted in:”

  • I apologise to all for an off-topic post direct to Robert Adama:

Robert…I wonder if you would contact me on email (sv.jabula@gmail.com)? I am building a new computer with very similar specs to the one you are using and I wanted to discuss it with you.

As an aside: I just bought the VP13/14 “special offer” for C$200 – the best deal out there so far given the exchange rate!

    Cheers,
    Bruce

    Hi Salim…and all,
I am in a similar situation. I am just about to purchase all the components to build the Videoguys DIY 11 computer setup (of course using John’s recommendation of the Radeon R9 290 gfx card).
However, with the introduction of the new i7 Skylake processor, which allows one to use the Asus Z170 motherboard and DDR4 RAM, I am now wondering if this wouldn’t be a better option?
Does anyone have any recent experience with this, or any comments.
Salim, I must apologise for weighing in on your thread like this, but I thought it might be pertinent to your situation too.
    Cheers,

    Will do. Thanks Leslie.

  • Hi Aaron and John. Thank you both for taking the time to respond to my query. And thank you for such a detailed reply Aaron.
I am aware that my laptop isn’t the most powerful these days. It’s just all I have right now. I will work through your suggestions although I’m not as computer literate as you clearly are. Of course I will start with the simplest option which is to reload Vegas as John suggested.
Thanks again to both of you and to this fantastic forum.

    Cheers,
    Bruce

  • Actually Graham I was just reading through this thread and came upon your post about creating a digital clock. You showed some examples which I thought was a joke, but then you came back with a serious question that went unanswered. So I was interested if you knew of a way of creating a digital clock more realistic than the basic time code clock…and was it also possible to make it count down?

    Cheers,
    Bruce

  • I’m certainly interested to see how you would create a digital clock with one of your examples. And how can you get the clock to count down?

    Cheers,
    Bruce
