Handbrake is perfect for this! Thanks!

  • OK figured it out. It’s a bug. If I bring the footage up in the effects control panel for some reason (Speed) is checked on, like I’m adding keyframes to it. If I check it off and render out of Premiere all is good. If I save it and try to re-render out of Premiere or the Media Encoder it defaults back to having (Speed) checked on and the alpha channel is not reading, so no background. Therefore my frustration button is checked to ON too!

You are correct! I looked up the old project I did do open captions last time. Obviously not the tool I am looking for for what I now need. Thank You!

Correct! Why it was changed after the upgrade is beyond me and I totally overlooked it. Thanks!

  • Thanks for your reply David. I have found out through this battle that there are a lot of programs that will import various mxf file structures into the mainstream video editing tools. What I find a little annoying is that camera manufacturers and or companies that supply editing software would have you spend another 100 to 300 dollars for software to get the files into your machine so that you can edit more efficiently.

Granted I’m no programmer so I don’t know how complex / expensive it is to write code and have these files recognizable to the various editing platforms, but I sure would be inclined to use one over the other if I could have one less headache in the edit suite.

Always have an up-to-date demo reel. You never know when management will decide to “move in a different direction” and your not on the map.

Thanks everyone I don’t know if it because I have an old G5 or the single button mouse but I have to hold down the option key when I click on the folder now in order for it to work. Maybe all will get better when I get my new Mac, I’m just waiting for that government stimulus check!
