Yep, well our colorist is. We deliver our broadcast commercials 100% in prores. All of our deliverly specs are prores. We live in a pro-res world. Currently we us the Pablo Rio for color, but now it makes a Resolve station a lot more tempting. Not having to have two computers for prores, just fire up encoder is way better.
I currently am a flame Op, so I am stuck on mac, because linux is well… linux…. I would be a happy person if flame came to windows.
Walter, how do you feel about Apple droping Cinform?

January 11, 2016 at 3:32 pm in reply to: 10-Bit Color in El Capitan: A sign of things to come in FCPX?Okay, took a little bit, but Found out for sure you can have 10-Bit export from mac thru I/O. I ran a 10-bit signal from my pc, and mac thru the same Flanders monitor. Then just switched from sdi1 to sdi2. It matched.
Also, I called blackmagic and they confirmed as well.

November 16, 2015 at 10:15 pm in reply to: 10-Bit Color in El Capitan: A sign of things to come in FCPX?Thanks Walter you are exactly correct :), I was looking for definitive proof. The black magic guys said you can run it into ultra scopes and find out, but couldn’t find my dvi adapter. I’ll have to test that out sometime soon.
But I did find out by trial and error exactly what Walter just said.
Also in my quest to find out if mac can out put a 10-bit signal at all (hd-sdi, a respected college says it can’t do 10 bit at all) I found out that no matter what I did in premiere on mac. The output was always 8-bit.
I had my Pablo Rio feeding a gradient into sdi 1, and my mac feeding sdi 2. I couldn’t get them to match till I used the blackmagic media program. Then my two displays matched perfectly.
Anyone know what I’m missing in premiere?
I want to see what resolve and the 10-bit option looks like on the new 5k mac!

November 11, 2015 at 3:56 pm in reply to: “after effects has encountered an error” in premiere pro projectman I’ve been there. Dynamic link will screw you over every time. The way I fixed it, was just to render all my AE stuff and cut it over my project. Pain in the ass, but it worked. Now I never dynamic link. I will send from premiere to AE, but then undo on my premiere timeline.
sorry about your crashing

Well, you have a fixed object (you subject) that never goes off screen. It shouldn’t be that hard to stabilize. Although, the best result you can hope for is a zoomed in image. Since it moves a fair amount. Did you try in after effect changing the warp stabilizer to position data only?
