    Hello Bob!

Yes, when Creative COW moved from our original behemoth of a platform to this smooth crisp new platform, I believe a little nostalgia was lost, to begin with.

Another recent event was a database back-up that I believe few sites have to deal with. 20 years of accumulated users had resulted in such a giant number of old and unused emails that could no longer receive our notifications, (Bessie was, in a sense, constipated) that forced us to unsubscribe the whole site in order to start again. Now we are living through a time of undelivered forum/discussion subscriptions while people re-subscribe.

Mads is correct that these days other forum sites provide profiles that can not only be a hub for people seeking technological advice, but the latest cat photos, marijuana grow tips, and current political discussions all in one consolidated feed.

Moving forward, everyone should know that Creative COW listens to your requests to improve this place that we all love, to deliver to you what you need in your creative and professional careers. Like recently the COW, due to popular demand, upgraded the search function to include many new parameters for search such as date sorting and relevance.

These are the changes we are committed to making in perpetuity as the need arises. At the start of the platform changeover the progress was slow, since we were still developing and correcting many behind the scenes functions. But now we are pretty caught up, and ready to move in the directions that will further the COW’s usefulness.

So we appreciate any and all suggestions to make this the place that you prefer to spend your time. This is your community, and we want it to stay that way.

Please don’t hesitate to mention how Bessie can better serve you! (encouraging more qualified contributors has been duly noted as well…)

    Hello Neil!

I wonder if you came across Premiere Rush in your search. It is indeed a very basic version of Premiere Pro, which allows you to cut and add to your footage. The interface is simple and very appropriate for a layperson.

Bob, you are far too wise and hilarious to be banned from Creative COW.

Patrick, could you share a screenshot by chance?

  • Hello Jack!

I was able to open the file on the version of Illustrator that I happen to have going, 2020. It does warn me that the file is using a font not available on my computer, “BatmanForeverAlternate”, but other than that it’s fine.

How much memory are you working with?

As a side note, this CreativeCOW.net un-subscription event does NOT include the Creative COW newsletter.

September 11, 2022 at 3:40 pm in reply to: Site-Wide Unsubscribe at Creative COW

As a follow up to this post, today Creative COW has made a site-wide unsubscribe to every user’s profile.

You’ve been completely unsubscribed from every forum and discussion at this time, and Creative COW encourages you to seek out and resubscribe to the forums and threads that you would still like to receive notifications from.

We apologize for any frustration this may cause in following your favorite topics and conversations. However, over the years the sheer amount of forgotten subscriptions had made such an impact on our database, it became necessary to put a reset into effect. By clearing the site of hundreds of thousands of old subscriptions, Creative COW will be able to function in a higher capacity, and be more useful for our users moving forward.

    Thank you!

August 24, 2022 at 1:40 pm in reply to: date sorting the search results?

Hello again, Brian, and all who have been waiting for date sort on search results!

Creative COW now features not only the ability to sort search results by Date, but by Relevance, Title, and Reply Count.

Once you enter your query into the Search field at the top of your screen, you will be offered a way to filter your results by all these metrics.

    Enjoy!
