As a fellow old person, I need you to acknowledge that Tolis Group, Tim Jones, and many manufactures are OVER. Apple has announced that with macOS Ventura, this new operating system will not work with any computer (translation – your expensive 2013 Mac Pro) – before 2017. Do you UNDERSTAND THIS ? The world moves on. You need to accept this. A kid, getting out of film school will have a new 2022 Mac Studio, and can run Davinci Resolve 18 for FREE. So your old obsolete Tolis BRU software and your “lasts for 30 years” LTO tapes with .tar extensions is USELESS . ITS OVER. DO you understand this. It’s like saying to an 18 year old – GROW UP. And now I am talking to 60 year olds – GROW UP – the world moves on. New things comes out, and YOU have to say “I have to keep up” – or “I need to retire” – I don’t care if you have to support your daughter or your grand daughter – and you have to pay for her college education – ITS OVER – you are in the same market as that 30 year old, and you need to COMPETE with him. And if you say “I can’t deal with this – I have my own issues – I have a medical issue, or my wife has a medical issue – NO ONE CARES” .
Where the HELL is that loser Tim Jones now in Alabama, who ripped off everyone from Tolis BRU, because he sold out to OWC, so he could “enjoy his retirement” instead of beautiful Scottsdale Arizona” . HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. YOU are responsible for yourself, and if are crying saying “how can I restore my Tolis BRU backups that are supposed to last for 30 years ” ? Then you are an idiot. ITS OVER. And I was saying that until Tim Jones got the last check that he could from Other World Computing for his software. ITS OVER.
Because I am OLD – I can say this with full confidence to you OLD GUYS just like Bob Cole – ITS OVER – you want to continue with our industry – then KEEP PAYING MONEY to the sponsors of Creative Cow. Don’t want to do this (because your goal is to provide for your grand daughters college education?) – the JUST LEAVE THE INDUSTRY, and collect your social security and your 401K plans, because there is no hope for you.
