I had the same thing happen to me.. I just took the entire motion template folder from my mac pro and copied it to a thumb drive and replaced the motion templates folder on my laptop.. Worked great!
Thanks in advance!

You can “batch export” all you sequences at the end of the day to compressor and let them compress overnight. When you export a ref file it is a lot smaller file that points to the original media. Takes a lot less time and space, BUT, it is a ref file… If the media is deleted or moved your ref file is no good! Beware…This is not meant to be a digital master, if you need a digital master of each seq, just check the box that say “make self contained” I am only mentioning a different workflow because I have had problems doing it your way, and have had none when I switched to the way I mentioned… Good Luck!
Thanks in advance!

I would only export a reference file of the clip and drop on compressor to compress into mpeg2. It is quick, and you can still work in FCP while compressor is doing its thing. The way you do it ties up both FCP and Compressor and sounds like it is unreliable. Good luck!
Thanks in advance!

I had this exact same thing happen on a live record of a show. Luckily I had ISO’s to rebuild the program rec that kept stopping!
The Fix?: Here is what I surmised…. Somehow the unit that stopped was in ProResHQ, and I was only sending SD.
Once I put the unit back into regular ProRes it worked flawlessly! Thanks in advance!

I use the microbeam 128 for my ex-1. It is made out of aluminum, not plastic and works very well! You can stack them if you want(buy two and they mount to each other..

while in XDCAM Transfer, it will show you proxies. When you import(re wrap to quicktime) to the desired media drive, that will be your full res file. Import one file, hide transfer tool and open the new file with quicktime and look at your specs.. Will be full res.. Good luck
Thanks in advance!

October 16, 2009 at 4:34 pm in reply to: best way to film a presentation incl. powerpoint projectorSingle camera med shot on presenter and a screen capture software on the laptop that is presenting, (with audio, for ref)..
I then edit in multi cam. this gives me a clean camera shot of the presenter, and a clean presentation to cut back and forth or PIP if I want… The screen capture gives you exactly what the presenter presented versus trying to figure out what slides he skipped or barley mentioned, or stayed on forever.Just a thought, Good Luck!
Thanks in advance!
