An answer, not a pitch to sell your book would have been nice.

I have used the Century and it works great when you need to get a longer lens.

Daniel, Noah has provided people here free first hand knowledge and advice for many years and he includes information on his signature to advertise his book. It is not a buy my book answer. Noah simply asked a question back to the OP so he or others here could answer the original question.

    Good Luck

Don’t check out my book: “Finding the best 2.0X Tele-Converter for the Sony EX1/EX3”, because it doesn’t exist.

Now now chaps, let’s be nice to one another. Michael’s right, the original question couldn’t sensibly be answered without the additional information, all perfectly reasonable.

I took Noah’s answer as a book pitch too. Maybe he needs to reformat his signature so it does not come across that way. My first question when I read it was “what does a book on the RED camera have to do with the question”. Not trying to be mean here, just trying to make sense of what was said.

I agree, I’ve noticed many short replies from Noah which gives us continued exposure to his very long signature. Self promotion is cool but Noah’s signature can also back fire, as others here have remarked.

Noah must knows his stuff so  why the hard sell… Just post your web site and mention the books when they apply to the subject at hand.

The original question was can you recommend a 2x lens. If you can’t then it wouldn’t matter Century, Sony or other! By the way, I agree Century is tops!
All that being said I hope Noah, sells a ton of books.. he seems to knows the biz and it’s nice to be rewarded for sharing.

Now that this thread’s been derailed completely off topic, I’d have to say that Noah’s signature does not bother me in the least. He’s made thousands, wait, tens of thousands of valuable posts on the Cow and a couple people with fewer than ten posts want to start complaining about his signature with a couple simple links in it?

    Give me a break.

There are many ways of saying or suggesting things.
[Micah McDowell] “people with fewer than ten posts want to start complaining “
This may be the most remarkable of this thread.
If you see the records of Daniel, you will find out that 50% of them are highly critical.
Nothing to complain about. The COW loves diversity.
