That is the ticket. I knew it had to be something like that.
I just received my Kona LH and I send the video to a Pansonic BT-LH2600W studio monitor and it looks great. I knew there had to be a change in the middle.

    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks, I will try that.

One more question. If you use Compressor to mpeg2 for a DVD, does it adjust for gamma for TV? I was thinking it must if that shows correctly.

That could be it. How do you render to a different gamma?

It actually played OK, it was the contrast. The projector works great with DVDs and Satellite. What difference would playing it directly in QT do?

Regarding the audio, I have the HDMI only for video on the entire system. All audio goes separate via optical and the Tuner/amp.

    I am using:
Desktop to make the movie: G5, dual 2.5Ghz, 8GB. OS 10.4.8
Laptop is Powerbook G4 1Ghz using OS 10.3.9 and FCP 5.04

I used a powerbook G4 1 Ghz with a DVI to HDMI convert.
I did us FCP, but not FCP HD.
I exported out of FCP HD to a self contained QT movie with the project defaults: HDVCpro 720p/30

Then played it out of FCP (not HD).

that is kink of what I figured. So if you have a G5 and a MacBook Pro, you will need 2.

Do you need this converter for the laptop if you will only be concerned with showing a finished movie, say quicktime or from the timeline to a TV?
I would probably use the laptop to take to places to show a finished Hi Def Movie.

I was looking at the Multibridge (external)

and comparing it to the Kona or Matrox MXO. External is more flexible.

This is a question of which converter. It appears the MXO, Kona LH and the Multibridge. The multibridge is not a card.

What about a Matrox MXO. One concern is using it with my G5 and my MacBook Pro.
