Hi
I’m using a’saved favourite’ render sent up which I’ve used for the past 3 years or so without problems so its unlikely to be the settings I feel. have just posted a new related post wondering if my PC is ailing and whether it is possible to save and transfer a veg file to load onto another PC rather like can be done in many recording software products.
thank you for the reply and does the above shed any light on to the issues? -
thank you for the info. I knew I had done it before its just not for a long time – now made a note!! Thanks again

December 22, 2016 at 10:12 am in reply to: clips which shows up suddenly as “off line”hi, the files are stored on the host pc and play perfectly from there. I have tried creating a new media bin and then dropping the clip (bypassing my normal approach which is to initially but all the files I need for the film segment into a media bin and then drag therm onto the timeline) directly from source onto the timeline which worked and as well the clip was automatically copied to the new media bin. I turned the pc off and on again and the files (the same ones which were deemed offline from my original media bin) were still live and working on the timeline. It seems to be that it is one of (so far) media bins that was failing?
Does the above appear to be a sensible and reliable work around to you? -
hi john
thank you so much for the info. i did find an article on creative cow which was very useful. I did not realise that 4k files were so big – only 50 minutes film on a 128gb card? guess i’ll stick with HD and hope ultra HD mporphs into something which which is less hungry. Many thanks for your comments very grateful. -
thanks steve for the guidance,
when you say add an effect to a clip in ‘project media’ how is that achieved – do i not have to drag the clip onto the timeline to use the FXs or does this take place in the editing window?
sorry to be a little dense here but I’m relatively new to vegas.
i’m also not sure I understand the reference to the ‘event level’ and what exactly is an ‘event’ ? -
thanks john.

thank you very much at least the knowledge that it will render is very welcome news. I’ll try renaming and see if that cures the niggle. thanks again.
