interesting, seriously goofed file. It’s an ascii ai try exporting as binary (version 8, of course). I don’t have Illustrator anymore but I opened it in Affinity Designer and it looks ok there and if I export as an eps (designer doesn’t do ai export) that eps opens fine in c4d.

  • then don’t try to wrap it it’s more trouble than it’s worth (unless you just want to see if it can be done etc). You have two more controllable choices

    – use a spline which is the correct shape (like your red omega) and Sweep a rectangle spline along that to make your shape
    – model it out of some simpler shapes – here’s a test using that approach 9601_handwrap.c4d.zip

  • is the ‘wrap’ itself going to be an animation (from Straight to Wrapped around your other objects) or is the final form just part of a model?

the only .xfr file type associated with 3D (that I know of) are XFrog models, you’d need the XFrog plugin to read those. If you are looking for some plants XFrog does give away free models from time to time and those can be downloaded in .c4d format (amongst other formats), Laubwerk has a free trial set for their plugin as well. The .tiff files will be textures for the models.

you are seeing the particles emitted for a single frame in each bunch because basic particles and Thinking Particles don’t have subframe emission – I don’t know if it can be fixed with the basic Particle emitter but it can with Thinking Particles. Check out this https://helloluxx.com/tutorials/cinema4d-2/cinema4d-thinking-particles/sub-frame-emission-with-thinking-particles/

try bdjonesatshawdotca – if you can work that ‘bot-unfriendly’ version out 🙂

sure, I can take a look and see it appears to be possible with your setup

if you are showing the score (passing the value to a text object) you can add by taking the value from the text object, add the score just made to it, and pass that new value back into the text object. Don’t try and pass it back into the same text object xpresso node make a copy or just drag in the text object to the xpresso window again…

    so in xpresso it’s

Text Object Node -> Math -> Text Object Node
    score node ———-^

  • odd stuff happens mostly due to render nodes not having the same chip as another, or people expecting exactly what you see in the viewport during a render with simulations of one sort or another but I haven’t seen texture’s popping like that myself, wouldn’t know what to call it.

what is it you are trying to get the clones to do? Same sort of ramp or something totally different?
