    Hi Guys,

    So I’ve hit a rut.
I’ve made an interactive pin ball machine using the C4D editor and xpresso, but now I want to kick it up a notch.
I want to add a points counter, but I’m unsure on how to get it to add up. I can make it display numbers when a target has been hit, but as soon as it looses contact with the object the numbers return to 0.
Does anyone know how I’d go about making those numbers add up?

Any help is appreciated! And if I figure it out before hand I will write my own tutorial here.

    Cheers,

    Nick Smith

if you are showing the score (passing the value to a text object) you can add by taking the value from the text object, add the score just made to it, and pass that new value back into the text object. Don’t try and pass it back into the same text object xpresso node make a copy or just drag in the text object to the xpresso window again…

    so in xpresso it’s

Text Object Node -> Math -> Text Object Node
    score node ———-^

    Thanks for replying.

It might be that it’s the end of the day and my brain is melting through my ears, but I did not understand that at all…

At the minute my xpresso is rather complicated, using dynamic collision etc. I’ve half found a away, using freeze nodes, but they don’t reset to 0 when the time line starts again.

Would it help you to see the file? I could email it to you if you’d like a ganders.

    Cheers,
