the cubes in your cloners are overlapping, they need a bit of space between each cloned cube. Either make the cubes smaller or increase the space in the cloner settings so they have a bit of separation.

assuming you want a flat bottom (like it is) cut the Phong Angle back to under 50°

Try unchecking High Quality in the boole’s settings, if that doesn’t do it we will likely have to see the scene file to see how it’s built

January 22, 2016 at 4:06 pm in reply to: Grass (Hair object) lighting issue

ah, ‘behind’ not underneath… Hair seems to be translucent (or transparent) as long as something luminous is behind it (true for an object with a luminant texture behind, also a sky object which is also luminous) even when translucency/transparency are set to zero (or turned off).
I don’t know a way to stop that (someone else might) except making more hair/grass, more curve/link/thickness or changing the Type in the Hair’s Generate tab to one of the physical hairs (Flat probably) but then you’d have to retexture.
Hopefully someone else knows a way to stop the translucence/transparency.

you control where the particles go (or the points of an object that the metaball is using)

check Use Illumination in the Pyrocluster material Illumination tab – it then takes lights into account rather than lighting itself

no familiarity, you sound correct, acts like a dialog window that needs to be cleared before the program will respond. If C4d is the only program it freezes it must have been spawned from there. If you can recreate it report to Support. I forget which version of C4D you re on.

January 15, 2016 at 7:43 pm in reply to: Can’t Paint on 3D OBject

BP works with textures (images) which you create as you paint them on. Your red is just a normal material without an image to give the red so when you try to paint on it it replaces the procedural (mathematical) red with an image file (which gives grey to start of with).
You probably need to start a new material so the red can be the base material and the new material paints over that – or you have to paint the whole cube red, to get the base color you want, then apply new color over that after.

might have to see the scene file, the smooth/skip/smooth thing looks like it’s not frame rates (project/render)

January 15, 2016 at 5:25 pm in reply to: Slide tool, texturing issues

to include images do a Save Project With Assets and zip the resulting folder to upload. The Slide tool should cause stretching of a texture not what’s happening to yours but the backboard isn’t one piece – after you made the Extrude backboard editable you Connect and Deleted the three parts but you need to Optimize after to make all three parts really be one. If you do that, then Knife (try a loop or plane), then Slide it will only stretch/compress the texture – there is no way to avoid that as you are changing the UVWs. You can fix it by making erasing the old UVW tag and choosing a new Mapping (Cubic maybe with this object) and regenerating new UVW coords.
