    I found that if you import a DVD file straight into FCP it gets a strange flicker/frild issue with any movment. It’s just as easy to recaputre the footage from a settop DVD player.

    Checkout a program called Cinamatize. Don’t know much about it but I think it does what you are looking for.

    I run into the same thing sometimes when switching devices. Try command F12 that will refresh AV devices. That works for me.

    It sounds like you need to unlink your clips or just turn linking off.

    1) turn linking off
    -this is done by pressing “shift L” this will turn linking off. Try that

    2)unlink clip
    -You can also select a clip and press “command L” this will unlink that particular clip and it does not matter if linking is on or not.
