Drag Audio Only to Timeline?
Posted by Jeffrey Fitzgerald on February 3, 2006 at 4:56 pmIs there a shortcut to dragging audio only to the timeline? I normally must split it by deleting the video track. Just curious…

See to the far left of the timeline, where you see V1, A1, A2?
Click that box that says V1 and see how it changes. Explore those devices and you’ll figure out what you need.

February 3, 2006 at 8:17 pmIt sounds like you need to unlink your clips or just turn linking off.
1) turn linking off
-this is done by pressing “shift L” this will turn linking off. Try that2)unlink clip
-You can also select a clip and press “command L” this will unlink that particular clip and it does not matter if linking is on or not. -

February 3, 2006 at 9:12 pmLoad your footage into the Viewer first, then drag and drop into the Timeline with the Audio Patch Panels set.
You sometimes won’t get these if you previously loaded a video only clip or generator. So it’s troublesome to drag straight from the Browser. Always better to load it into the Viewer first.
