Never seen nor heard of it to now. Bizarre. And I’m on the net, always.

It broke 5 or so years ago and so, no, don’t hold your breath. You didn’t even touch on the worst of it. Move your dropzone clip itself down the timeline. Way down the timeline. Now whatever frame you click on actually syncs up with your drop zone as if it started at the beginning of the timeline.
In any case, the fixes are to always click on the frame in the browser for what you’re showing. And for a dz that doesn’t start at the beginning of the timeline, you have to back time your clip by adding black in front of it and then compounding it, and then clicking on the first frame. Otherwise, you likely don’t have enough pre-roll in the clip and your dropzone will consist of a freeze of the last frame of your clip.
It’s such a problem that LenoFX, MotionMasterTemplates, and also I think Stupid Raisins have videos on it to refer their customers to when

Strange. I’ve never seen this or heard of it in 6 years. Does this happen if the files are replaced with FCPX closed? You’re not really supposed to be replacing files like that with the app open. It usually works but I wouldn’t rely on it.

April 19, 2018 at 6:47 pm in reply to: FCP X Titles exporting as one letter instead of full wordI thought you said it only looked wrong on export? Here it’s clearly wrong in FCPX. And what’s written in the timeline really has no bearing to what’s in the viewer. You sure that font works with lowercase?

Does the effect affect the background? Blur it, color it, etc? Then there’s nothing to put the shadow on. It’s a full screen effect. But you should ask Leno or their support.

April 5, 2018 at 11:09 pm in reply to: Proliferation of duplicates appearing in Motion Templates folder after choosing to “Store Motion content in library”Just to back up Andreas- I’ve been trying for a year and a half to figure out how to get it to work as I imagined. It doesn’t. It won’t. Don’t do it.
BUT The ONE thing I do use it for…
At the end of a project, I generally make a consolidated version of the library that only has the media and the final sequences used. I tend to make a lot of my own plugins and fx and I need a way to copy those over, but as you’ve seen, embedding them in the library is a mess. So what I do now is a multi step process.1 I create a new library from final project(s) and consolidate the media into the library (not the fx). This makes a nice new library from just the media used.
2 I go back to the original library that I was planning on trashing and consolidate all the motion fx into the library.
3 I then open up the .fcpbundle and copy that folder of effects and add it to all the other resources I’m archiving with the new library. All that the folder of plugins does for me is make sure I have them and I know the exact hierarchy they need to be installed in.

April 4, 2018 at 9:00 pm in reply to: How do I split audio from video in Final Cut Pro X?Wouldn’t it make more sense just to trim off the first 11 frames of the audio, then move it backward? You don’t need the 11 frames that don’t have visual most likely.

So when you try to relink a file it doesn’t show you the last location like in the screenshot? The relinking process is pretty much the same as FCP 7, except waaay more particular. If the files seem to be gone, about all you can do is search your whole system with spotlight.
