Proliferation of duplicates appearing in Motion Templates folder after choosing to “Store Motion content in library”
Hi all,
I decided recently to (by default) switch on the option to store motion content “In Library” as opposed to in the “Motion Templates Folder”. I did this so that I could more easily transport projects when required
However now I have noticed a proliferation of duplicates across my system.
I am seeing duplicated appearing in folders like this: https://i.imgur.com/ogfJ5tH.png
I am also seeing folders being created that shouldn’t be there because they are managed, For example MotionVFX has a package called mForm. I now have an mForm folder in my home templates folder which I don’t believe is supposed to be there as this only contains duplicates PLUS the titles that are NOT duplicates work just fine in FCPX alongside the duplicated versions, because the non-duplicates still live is /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro/
Here’s an example of what my newly created mForm folder in my home directory looks like, with the perfectly working duplicate and non-duplicate plug-ins on the right hand side: https://i.imgur.com/3YwJZPe.png
I have also noticed that I am starting to get these warnings repeatedly from mInstaller: https://i.imgur.com/CnpIlBr.png
I have turned off the option to keep motion templates in the FCPX library going forward, but now I am afraid that a lot of work done will be referencing duplicate titles effects an generators.
If i delete the duplicates, I am afraid that there is no way to relink motion template title generators etc.
Can anyone confirm that is or isn’t the case?
Also is anyone else experiencing these same issues?
Many thanks
