Not having multiple browser windows is a huge time suck. Wish they would simply allow multiple browser windows where you can have anything displayed. For example I might want a window of sequences in list wire to quickly switch between, but a keyword collection of broll open in thumb/filmstrip view. I would also love to show a thumbnail in list view.

You can not. But the little Arrows at the top left of the timeline navigates between recent timelines like a web browser.

Do you mean two libraries or two timelines? FCPX calls timelines projects for some reason, but most people think of a library as a project since that’s what every other NLE including FCP legacy called it.
You can’t drag and drop between timelines. Just copy and paste. You can have multiple libraries open.

I wouldn’t go back to tracks any time soon either, but IMHO “maintaining sync” is something that X does not excel at. The king daddy of that is Avid and utilizing sync locks. If they still have that feature. It’s been awhile. This was instantly apparent to me when I saw the demo presented 4 years ago, (where you can view Randy knocking audio out of sync whilst he demos how it keeps everything in sync), and after 4 years nothing has changed.

Sounds to me like they were rewraped. ProRes plus the proxies would be over 200GB. But 44×2 plus proxies sound like 106GB to me.
Ed, do you still have MXF import plugins installed even after Apple added MXF support? I think that should keep it from rewrapping as .mov.

Mine worked for 7 days! Until I repaired permissions. Now it’s back.

If memory serves, you highlighted whatever you wanted and chose send to motion. It first saved that chunk as a .motn file, and replaced the chunk with the embedded motn file which was of course opened and edited in motion. Pretty much just like premiere /AE.

Highlight all the media in the bin and right click and choose to create proxys.

We had full sequence or portion roundtriping in FCP 7. Not just clip roundtriping.
