The Pro Video Formats version 2.0.1 update keeps popping up in the App Store, even after installing. I’m seeing this happen multiple times on different machines running both Yosemite and Mavericks OS. Any thoughts on how to get this to “stick”?

    Oliver,

I had the same issue, updated Pro Apps several times only to have it appear as an update again. I found this thread on Apple’s discussion board and it seems to have fixed the issue:

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7006966

Basically, copy all of the files from /Library/Quicktime then run the update again and reboot. I deleted everything from the Quicktime folder before the update just to be sure everything in there was “new”. Then copy any files back to the Quicktime folder that are 3rd party files.

    Hope this helps.

    Jon

We covered this on one of the Facebook forums last week. Just delete the Mxfimport file from the thread above, run the install again, and the you should be good. No need to copy anything back.

Also try installing from Pacifist. This solved it for me!

Pulling out the AppleMXFimport component didn’t fix it. I followed the first approach (pull everything out, run the update, copy back the third party plug-ins) and that seems to be OK. This is on a Mavericks machine.

[Oliver Peters] “Pulling out the AppleMXFimport component didn’t fix it.”

I had to trash and then delete the trash. After that, the subsequent download and install stuck.

Yosemite seems to have a lot of very weird permission types of errors.

I did that. It didn’t work. This was in Mavericks. I’ll test my home machine tonight. It’s on Yosemite.

The MXFimport thing worked on my Yosemite Mac Pro.

FWIW – It’s a day later and neither of these processes have actually been successful. It worked for a day and then the Update appeared again. The only machine I haven’t seen this on is a new machine that started out as Yosemite and has never had FCP Studio (“legacy”) installed on it.

Mine worked for 7 days! Until I repaired permissions. Now it’s back.

Again, try installing with the Mac app Pacifist. When done repair permissions. It will work.
