You’d probably make different groups, based on numbers of slices, and choose which group is used via a pull-down rig.

My wife is a producer (you’re in ATL you may know Teri Lamprey) and when our daughter’s kindergarten teacher asked what Mom and Dad do for a living, she told her “they make videos in the basement.” The teacher was later relieved when we told her it was just corporate video!

it’s the only software I’ve used for editing pretty much since 2012. I’m corporate and around here in ATL you’re either working at the companies’ facility or you’re working on your own system. I’ve rarely left my basement for a project in 5 or 6 years. My clients are either turn key productions for some of the large companies here (that aren’t really interested in what you edit on) or video producers, where I supply the post production, and many of them are using FCPX as their pre-production tool, bringing me a library or a rough cut. Occasionally something comes my way that’s been started or roughed in Premiere and I just rent Premiere for a month and export it over to FCPX. I still use AE at times, but Motion serves my needs most of the time.

I’ve used it on 2012 iMac via TB2 to HDMI cable. I don’t know about the resolution, but in comparing the look from the HDMI vs BMD or AJA the HDMI out was never for anything but a quick way to view on a screen. The gamma was totally different and the colors were oversaturated. At the time it didn’t support interlacing and was 8 bit as well. Cant remember if it carried audio which helps keep audio in sync with picture by hooking up speakers to the audio output on my Flanders monitor. Unless things have changed I wouldn’t use it for color. It was also just kind of annoying how switching apps turned it back to a desktop and/or your mouse could still disappear to the AV out screen even though it was dedicated video. I’ll take a BMD or AJA any day. Prefer BMD geese days.

There has been a bug for a long time where certain outline/strokes on motion shapes didn’t update until you clicked in the timeline. But they were rare and were fixed in most recent version. But perhaps they just moved the bug to your issue.
