After numerous emails and lots of head banging with Panasonic support the answer after a month now is NO it not’s gonna work!

First they said it was a problem with WinDVD, well I don’t have that. Then they said it was because my laptop is 64bit, it is but the OS is 32bit and the 64bit driver wouldn’t load. Then they said they had a new driver to try, that didn’t work. Now they tell me it’s because I don’t have a camera connected to the computer when I installed the drivers. Well I NEVER had a camera with my other laptop either (Compaq with XP) and it installed fine, but now I need the camera? I don’t own one, I rent.

Damn frustrating! I will try once more at the rental house with their camera attached but I don’t think it will matter.

It’s not like I’m using a cutting edge system here. One of the reason for getting a new laptop was to expidite loading P2 cards over my Old XP laptop.

There’s got to be a way to get this working.

    I was afraid of that……

We are hand loading the data but it’s a real pain. Esp since we cannot look at the data expect in the raw file data format.

Despite the instructions from DSC and the Varicamp I’ve found if I set the Chart in daylight when we go to use the camera in Tungsten the color is not very pleasing. However if set up with tungsten it looks pretty good.

Further I feel that the chart over chromas the camera a bit in the reds and causes the blue channel to look a little noiser than it should.

I use the chart if not going telecine (tape to tape on Spirit or such) and tend to back off the correction a good deal if going straight to edit.

I agree the Varicamp is excellent.

You can’t really tell much what you are doing with out a chart and Vector scope.

Besides it’s been my finding that if you set up using the DSC chart you just make the camera noisy especially in Blue and Grey/black areas

You can put code in the drop down’s onChange event to set the other field.

When to send your variables you, as long as they are set in a form field for the current form they will be sent in the POST header. If not you have to make your own code and use the OnSubmit event to set them to hidden fields and send that way.
