I’m apologize for helping to screw up your system.
I must be the one with the anomaly then because I could not get CUDA to work until I installed the CUDA Kit.
Maybe it’s me that needs to do a clean OS Install, my system may have a driver issue then.\”MY MEDIA MOTO: If you think three copies of your media is enough.

Exporting to MPEG-2 is incredibly slow so avoid using it.
DVD’s are MPEG-2 but the exported MPEG-2 file from Premiere will not be a proper DVD Transport Stream file. It will be a single file and if you look in the VideoTS folder of a DVD you will see that there are a few files in there with the largest ones being about 1gb. DVD transport streams have a maximum size of about 1gb so they use file spanning.
What I’m getting at here is that no matter how you export you will have to do a two pass encode anyway. I will give you an example of what I do when making auto start DVD’s.
I export to ProRes LT with 6 to 8 seconds of black at the start and end of the show first. The 6 to 8 seconds is there because many DVD players skip the very start of playback and so some of your show would then be cut off. Then I drop the ProRes file into Toast Titanium and set it up to Create an Auto Start DVD with no menus. This ends up taking far less time and system resources. This is on a Mac but I’m sure there’s a similar way to do it on a PC.
For Authored DVD’s bring the ProRes File into Encore.

July 6, 2017 at 5:06 am in reply to: Export “Match Sequence Settings” Doesn’t Actually Match Sequence Settings Issue720×480 is Standard Defintion because that’s what the industry has defined as the Horizontal and Vertical dimensions for SD. In this case 720×480 is DV SD, there’s also 720×486 for DVD’s and 720×540 or full sized SD which are all NTSC SD Frame Size Standards.
You should always setup your Sequence Settings to the size of the highest res videos you have, like say 1920×1080. The first time you start an export it defaults to DV – 720×480, especially if you initially started with a 720×480 DV Sequence . You need to use or build a preset that fits you media size and if 720×480 still pops up on export this is where you override the “Match Source Settings” and configure your output settings manually.
Note: If your Sequence is set to 720×480 you will not get any better results overriding the export settings. You must create a sequence with the proper frame size first.

If CUDA is not installed then your PC is not really using CUDA.
It’s therefore not using your GPU at all for the Mercury Playback Engine and Rendering.
AME and the other Adobe products don’t seem to give an error in many cases if you have selected CUDA for your Mercury Playback Engine and CUDA is not installed.I would suggest installing these drivers.
If you would prefer not to then choose OpenCL.\”MY MEDIA MOTO: If you think three copies of your media is enough.

You won’t notice much difference in heat between the 2012 – 5,1 and the 2008 – 3,1 possibly even more in the 2012.
I would suggest just finding a way to put the system outside of the room and extending your Monitor and USB Cables.
35′ DVI Cables are easy to get and reasonably priced. You can install a USB 3 Card in both the 2008 and 2012 Models. There are Generic Cards that work in Macs but not all of them will so you may have to do a bit of searching to find one. There are also quite a few of the Generic Cards that have a Molex Power Connector that must hooked up which is a PITA to do in the Mac Pros. Sonnet Cards are expensive but they always work in Macs and are very reliable.
I think the 2013 Trash Cans to be overpriced Toys so I wouldn’t even look at one at all.
I currently use 2012 – 5,1’s for all my systems and they work great.\”MY MEDIA MOTO: If you think three copies of your media is enough.

Watch this Video this should really help you.
I previously provided a Link to a great video on Overlay Editing but it’s not working.Instead click on the Link at the top of the list by Simon Unsdell on Overlay Editing.

You would see an Icon that looks like a question mark or a triangle with an exclamation mark in it.Dell has really great support and drivers are generally very easy to find on there site.

There are many Cameras that use very low Bit rate AVCHD so seeing Proxy Files that are larger than you original media is not surprising.
This is also why AVCHD is so difficult to playback, it’s very highly compressed.
Here are you only options then.1- Use the Proxy Files even if they are larger than the Original Media.
2- Trancode to a Larger easier to Playback Codec.By rendering your timeline you will end up with Cache Files that are larger than you original media as well.

As suggested in another Post Playback at 1/4 Res is probably your best bet especially if HD space is a problem.\”MY MEDIA MOTO: If you think three copies of your media is enough.

If your worried about heat then speed up or add more fans to your system.
