The only time you really need to use sync is when you are doing outputs to tape.
Sending T/C from the Audio Interface to the BM Card will do nothing at all.

  • 8.8.5 is the first version of Avid this is qualified for High Sierra.
Look for a Sierra Installer on the net, you should be able to find one.

  • You are absolutely correct on those points.

I must say though the Alchemist definitely does a better job than the Teranex from all the sample comparisons that I’ve seen. It is however the more expensive option. I’ve never seen anything from Twixtor though.

    Here’s how I did it.
Use at least a 500W PSU for two Video Cards.

  • Yes the only method to get it to 25fps without duplicate or blended frames is to speed it up.
Even the Teranex and Alchemist will duplicate or blend frames unless you get it sped up through them.

Are you doing just straight Imports or Batch Re-Imports.

Get the bins from the person who imported them, select all these clips and do a Batch Re-Import. They should all come back online in the sequence if you do it this way.

There are two ways to use two cards on a Mac Pro.

First one is to put them in a Cubix x16 Chassis but those things are just so over priced. The second way is to use an external ATX Power supply to power the two video cards but you would have to have a bit of electronic knowledge to do this. The ground from the power supply should be connected to at least the case of the Mac Pro and small transistor circuit is needed to turn it on when the Mac Pro turns on. I just tapped the trigger circuit from the PCIe power connectors that originally powered the video card.

That list is really old, there are a ton of cards that are not listed there that are supported.
As far as the Pascal Architecture goes it would be supported if there are drivers available for your particular OS.

Actually I’m not to worried about the compatibilty of the 980Ti’s with Resolve because I have a 3,1 Mac Pro with a 4gb GTX-680 and it’s still fully compatible. It’s ancient compared to the 980Ti so it will be awhile before I have to toss the 980Ti’s.
