Great idea. I requested a DIY forum here. They were supposed to create one, but I guess they forgot. I might request it again. There are so many ways to get great results without spending a lot of cash.

I saw a great idea on one of Kelbymedia.com sites where they took a paint pole, put two together and made a background pole for a stand.

If it’s FREE it’s probably pirated and not appropriate. But, since tis is video copilot’s forum. Andrew Kramer has some freebee’s on his site, videocopilot.net as well as some low cost DVD’s of visual effects of explosions, fire, glass breaking, etc.

Digital Juice also has a bunch of inexpensive visual effects to choose from. digitaljuice.com

They are both worth the investment

Adobe Media Encoder has nice presets in CS5. Drop down menu for YouTube and Vimeo. A time saver for quick conversions. I also use Vimeo’s Uploader software that lets you batch upload multiple files.

Downside, you probably have multiple clips, so you will need to put them together in an editing system to have one continuous clip. Or, I also use Streamclip. It converts and you can make one clip from all your shots.

I think he wanted the mic for the EX1r. I’ve used the Rode Mic’s for the Canon 5D MkII. I also use the Zoom recorder as an on camera Mic for the DSLR’s.

I have the EX-1 and it does not record standard def. It’s still better to record HD and downconvert, even though it takes more time.

Adobe does a faster job encoding and working with your files and final cut and compressor.

Dido: Tricaster direct to DVD recorder.

Pre-print your case and DVD labels and have them ready to go.
On-site duplicator, or 2, or 3 depending on how many you think you’ll need to replicate. Over 100 for same day may be tight. If you have a day for replication, then you can set up the machine in a hotel room and let it run all night.

Here you go. No XLR inputs at this price.

February 10, 2011 at 7:11 pm in reply to: What was your shortest Wedding Ceremony?

One of my first weddings was a Buddhist weddings. Started at 8 AM, the monk’s chanted for 2 hours, ate, then 2 more hours. Reception went until 2 AM the next day!

Shortage Marriage: The bride actually called her attorney to ask him to get an annulment while on a cruise ship during their honeymoon. Oh well, I was already paid.
