Here’a a cheap tool that’s really works. I bought a G.E Light Sensing Timer with Remote Control in Home Depot for $11.95. This little sucker handles up to 1000W on two grounded outlets. Set the dial to “On”, plug in your light and you can turn the light on & off remotely from up to 80 feet away. I used this to remotely turn on and off a light I had aimed at a podium while taping an honors luncheon yesterday. It’s meant for outdoor use so the receiver is very ruggedly built.

Great idea. I requested a DIY forum here. They were supposed to create one, but I guess they forgot. I might request it again. There are so many ways to get great results without spending a lot of cash.

I saw a great idea on one of Kelbymedia.com sites where they took a paint pole, put two together and made a background pole for a stand.
