April 25, 2013 at 5:27 pm in reply to: stabilizing EXTREMELY vibration filled, shaky aerial footage from a 5DWhen shooting aerial footage, the gimbal system needs to have a stabilization system to offset the copter’s vibrations. Cheap gimbals give you the result that you have, which just won’t work.
There are people for hire with good systems. A typical multirotor system and gimbal will be around 10 grand or more. There camera quadricopter systems for the GoPro 3 coming out very soon that do great shots for under 2 grand.
This doesn’t help with your question, but it will save you all the issues in the future.
Look at some of the new NAB videos or google Quad copter gimbel systems. Lot’s of YouTube videos too.

It may be too late for this, but I’ve heard complaints about Sennheiser wirless systems.
I’ve used Sony UWP wirless systems for years with no interference or issues. I even shot a corporate job with over 20 wireless systems going in breakout sessions with no problems.

yes, yes, and yes. You do not have the right to use copyrighted music in any form unless you have paid for a licensing agreement.
Music Bed has inexpensive license for event videographers. But, I couldn’t tell you if taking that licensed material and remixing would violate the agreement. I’m not sure on that even though I wouldn’t see it being a problem if you paid for the right to use it.

April 8, 2013 at 2:46 pm in reply to: Hi Guys I am looking for a cheap Lavalier mic that can be attached to Sony EX1 via lead ?Here’s an inexpensive Sony Lav that sounds good.
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/140125-REG/Sony_ECM_44BMP_ECM44BMP_Electret_Condenser_Microphone.htmlIt has an 1/8 connector. You’ll need a 1/8 – XLR adaptor or cable to hook it directly into the EX-1 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/387850-REG/Rode_VXLR_VXLR_Mono_Mini_Jack.html

I have a Samsung Galaxy S-III. They just announced the Galaxy S-4 with a 13 megapixel camera.
The video is great and it’s a great phone. This would give them the best of all worlds. You can also install a mini SD card.
It’s better than the Tablet’s out there.

I see a hiccup at the end. 24/25p is meant to look a little jittery to give you a simulated film look. Film is jittery.
DO you see this in the RAW footage? What you see online has been compressed and if not done correctly, it can look bad.

If you are not on a budget, the stick with the canon L-Series.
The Tamron’s are a cheaper alternative, but they don’t compare to the L-Series.
I’d start with a 24-70, 70-200,
I also have the $200 50mm macro for other shots. It’s not as good as the L-Series, but I don’t use it a lot and it gives me some nice macro shots that I need.

March 19, 2013 at 4:03 pm in reply to: DSLR Continuous Shooting (Getting around the FAT32 file limit)It’s always good to have an actual video camera for long shoots / corporate seminars, etc., for just such occasions.
Sometimes I’ll shoot for 6 hrs and have 6 hrs. of footage. They need the entire seminar for employees that could not make it.
It’s long and boring, but it’s what the client needed. DSLR’s won’t fit the bill for these shoots.
You can rent or pick up a video camera for cheap.

March 19, 2013 at 3:56 pm in reply to: Avoiding Flicker w/Canon 5D Mark II in 50Hz 220V country[Steve Crow] “oesn’t work then multiples of 1/100 like 1/50th, 1/200. Keep in mind that as you get into the higher shutter speeds you may not like the look of the video – some people call it “jittery” or “hyper realistic” or “video like” or “lacking motion blur.””
A good example of this is “Saving Private Ryan” They used 1/1000 shutter speed to get that look when they first landed on the beach.
