Good Point. I have a sata drive and a sata port from an express card adaptor that I bought. It works well. This laptop only has 2 gigs of ram too but the processor is overclocked so it kinda helps. I definately want to upgrade when I can though. I can’t work on a desktop seeing I am always mobile with my productions. 9 times out of 10 I usually hand the client the finished product before I leave the facility.
Thanks for the response.
Thanks

Well I deactivated it and reloaded it and it didn’t work
still no presets for Panasonic P2 Card files.
I wonder if I can install this codec manually?
I searched the install disc but can’t seem to find anything that jumps out at me.
who would of thought this would be so hard. Just an upgrade and now going on two weeks
Thanks for help so far and thanks in advance for future help

Wow a whole OS install? Wow that will be difficult. I still have a lot of projects I have with Ppro2 on here. I can’t chance to loose them.
I will dry deactivatiing it first tomorrow and then delete CS3 and then reinstalling it.
Hopefully that will do it.
I still want to keep PProCs2 on this seeing it works like a charm and need it for everyday editing at work
Thanks for your response

Well I bought and got the upgrade of CS3 Premiere. I loaded it up this morning and there are no presets for P2.
I am guessing I should of Deleted the Demo I tried that didn’t have the presets either. It said it was loading new components that didn’t come with the demo seeing I registered it and activated it correctly but when I go to the presets there is nothing that has changed and no P2 set up.
I know it has to be there. Anyone know how to get it there? should I reinstall? Should I deactivate it.
I might call adobe for help but I always try here first
Thanks

by Vincent Becquiot on May 22, 2008 at 11:27:06 amThere are P2 presets. The quality from DVCPro HD to DVD puts DV to shame.
Cheers,
Vince

Cool yeah the cs3 demo of premiere doesn’t seem to have the preset for dvcproHD so it got me nervous that it was some kind of thing i needed to load in.
I just want to pick the codec and the project right off the bat when you first open cs3 premiere. I am going to order the software today the upgrade version.
I can’t wait to see how the footage is going to look even though the output will still be to down-res it to DVD. Still fun to know HD is available if I need it.
Thanks for posting

Hey Chris,
Thanks for the response. It is exact response i was looking for.
I am just looking for solutions for people here at work so they can work from home if they need to.
I am thinking we are going to need to set up a VPN with new routers from sonicwall and also get a much faster connection like a T1 line. So people can access the server through a vpn from their computer at home. Instead of working on their work computer remotely.
Thanks again for the response.

Thanks for the advice. I was looking into the HV-10 canon because it can be used as a deck for my old dv tapes as well. So one of those was in my budget and the price of it is so nice for such a conspicuous handheld camcorder. I like that Panasonic HDC-SD1 AVCHD 3ccd camera too and was thinking of getting a black magic hdmi card to capture in footage shot from the panasonic.
I like to shoot 3 camera set ups for events I do so it will be good to have these as my back up cameras and eventually I will be going with a sony v1, canon xh a1, or panasonic hvx200.
I am leaning more towards the canon a1 for now seeing it seems to have the best bang for the buck and I shoot a lot of surfing footage and need the good 20x optical lense even though the Sony V1 has a 20x optical lense too but heard/read it doesn’t work as good with fast panning motion (mostly up and down) like the canon a1 does.
The thought of AVCHD makes me happy to see the advancement in video but you are probably right it is to early to get excited.
Thanks

That is dissapointing to hear. I don’t know why companies do stuff like that. It is like selling a car with out wheels and they expect you to drive it off the lot.
Has anyone used the cineform codecs in vegas or premiere 2.0? I looked at and it seems like a good way to keep the old computers running on next gen video.
I still shoot in SD and editing in SD is a dream come true. It looks like with any sort of HD it is 1997 all over again. I have seen some HDV footage from consumer cameras and just blown away how great and better the quality is. And they didn’t even light it like film or anything.
I want to make the leap and believe AVCHD is the way to go seeing I heard about the HDV drop frame issue all the time but you can fix that by buying master quality mini dv tapes that cost way to much and then breaks the budget. It just reminds me of Hi8 and Digital8. hence 1997 all over again.
