    Hi Sean,

Thanks for your thoughts. While that’s a workaround that would definitely do for a slideshow (and one I will keep in mind!), I’m still hoping theres a way that someone out there knows to do this with more than just stills. Source could be stills, could be titles, could be clips. It’s more about taking x number of things and making them fit x number of minutes on the timeline (and preferably all joined with X transition)

    Some type of scripting, maybe?

    Thanks,
    Brandt

    Hi Carolyn,

I’m a relatively new convert to Final Cut Pro, but I bumped into something similar when I first started, so Final Cut HD import might be along the same lines.

At least in FCP, “Capture Now” doesn’t use the camera controls. It’s sitting there waiting for you to actually press play on the camera itself, and won’t stop recording until you tell it to- very dangerous if you’re not paying attention and the tape finishes and before you know it you’ve filled your HD with black video. Not that I’ve done that. I mean, I’ve heard…

Anyway, again assuming a similar interface, look for something like “Capture Clip”. That ought to use the in and out you set (if you have, which you should) 🙂

    Hope that helps,
    Brandt
